“Daytona Beach Hidden Treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2009

This is our 2nd year in a row that we have stayed here for 2 weeks during race week. Last year 4 of us this year 8 of us. More want to come next year. This place is just the greatest. The whole staff from the office, housekeeping, to maintance go out of their way to make your stay just the best that it can be. The veiw of the ocean is just something you have to see for your self, we had a full moon shining on the ocean a few nights and it was just like something you would see in the movies. The same guests keep coming back year after year, and are freindly and remember you. So many places to eat in area, had a hard time picking a place. Cooking out on the deck one night with friends was just great. Dolphin Beach Club is Daytona Beach hidden treasure. Stay small!!!!!

We were looking forward to our vacation for a long time and we were meeting our daughter, who flew down from Chicago and we came in from Las Vegas. When we booked this resort it was because our points required we stay in red season vs. high red. We booked through our vacation club, Bluegreen Corp, and were able to view pictures online so we had an idea what to expect. Well, when we got there we were surprised to find out that not all rooms are oceanfront, even though the website would lead you to think so. Only the studios are oceanfront, the one bedrooms are on the side of the building. Well, when we got into the one bedroom we were shocked to find it a mess. The one chair in the room was flithly and all torn up, The outlets were coming out of the wall, the water in the bedroom bathroom was so low that you couldn't take a proper shower and when we opened up the hideaway bed out popped popcorn and nut shells. The air could only be on low because it sounded liked a mack truck. By the next morning I was in the office because not only the condition of the room but the fact that we wanted a ocean view, that was the one thing we wanted for our vacation. After quite a bit of time they finally decided they weren't quite full and gave us a studio. This room was much better than the one bedroom, clean and in working order. I give props to Joyce in the office, she handled the situation very professionally when I was very upset and ready to check out. It was the week of Daytona 500 so the resort was very full, of old people. I would not recommend this place for families, only for maybe 2-3 people and you have to make sure to get the ocean view, there is nothing like it, we had the door open all night long listening to the water. It was fun to drive on the beach and collect seashells. I would go back but only with my husband and I in the studio villa. They were doing some upgrading so hopefully it will be in better shape if we return. One very important thing I noticed, there is no night life in Daytona Beach and very few places to eat. It was very romantic to watch the sun come up over the Atlantic Ocean and walk on the beach at night during the full moon.

We just got back from our week vacation at Daytona Beach. By the look of the Beach Club we didn't expect much because it looked very small but once you get into your room there is more to it. You have a little kitchen fully stocked with pots, utensils, plates and bowls etc. The kitchen also has a working dishwasher, stove, oven, paper towels, a blender, a toaster and fridge. You have a kitchen table, a sofa that pulls out as a bed, a chair, bathroom, a TV with dvd player and a bed. There are places to keep your shoes and so forth next to the bed. There is also a mirror with two dressers. When you exit to the back patio/beach area there are chairs that stretch out so you can sun tan there, lots of tables and chairs, a swimming pool, small jacuzzi and a pretty nice size grill for outdoor BBQ. I was very impressed with the layout and it was right on the beach so you did not have to drive anywhere. There is maid service if you want but it is basically a take care of yourself place. They have a laundrey room available and it is of no cost. They also have a vacuum and broom as well as an ironing board with iron. Overall this is a great place to stay and I would go back again! I highly recommend this place for family, friends or couples.

It was mine and my boyfriends very first time ever going to Florida. I thought the room was perfect. It has a full furnished kitchen. Beautiful view of the ocean. Plenty of room for the two of us. The pool was a perfect. From the hot tub you're looking into the ocean. It's not in the middle of all the tourist places but it's not to far either. We even seen a dolphin on our last day there. It was very memorable. I'm accually looking for a time to go back right now! Hope this helps everyone out.

  • Liked — The view of the ocean.

Great location right on the beach. Staff go over and above. Dolphin Beach has overcome "some" issues from the last hurricane and they continue to rectify maintenance requests quickly. We did a time share trade (down) but if you don' t mind a motel motif with a beach/pool in the back yard and closeby Disney attractions, Kennedy Space Center, lots of local excursions, it is a great location. Check the weather and watch for rip tides. Can you hear that ocean ? Ahhhhhhhh

The pool and pooldeck is large w/ 2 BBQ's, shuffle boards, sauna and hottub. The beach is long, flat (great for walking/running) sand is white and shellfree. There is no "shopping" around unless souvioners is what you want. Putt-Putt golf is nearby. You want to rent a car. The units mostly oceanfront w/balcony are studios w/ small kitchen, mainly for breakfast/lunch meals but still its nice to have that flexibliity+ a full size refrig. for pop and beer. They have tried to update the rooms but the design/layout looks as if it hasn't changed in 30 years. They have towel replacement 2x per week and fresh pool towels daily. There is a rec. room for kids. Parking is free. Overall if you want a relaxing, low key, no frills, family vacation with sun and fun this is good. If you want "high rent district" and fine dining this is not the hotel or Daytona not the area for you.

The best thing about this place is the VIEW. We had a studio which overlooked the ocean and you couldn't beat it. Although the place had everything you needed in the room (except a hairdryer, a working electric stove, pass room keys which continually failed us, a DVD player that hummed during use), we still enjoyed our week of 5/27-6/2 due to the weather. The pool/patio area is very nice and the beach without rocks/shells/crabs is wonderful!
