This restaurant is very nice. Frank, bartender was very nice. We got lost looking for the place. They moved November 2013 and GPS has not realized that yet, so, we got lost. Anyways, Frank stayed with us on the phone until we arrived. When we walked in the restaurant it was NOT what we were all expecting. The place was very nice and classy. In other words, the name of the restaurant is too informal for the setting of the place. "Chucherias" to catrachos means "snacks". This is definitely NOT a place where you would go to just get a snack and if you do then you'll pay no less than $13.00 for a "snack" like baleadas for instance. We decided to leave. We did not try the food perhaps we should've but being from Honduras we had other expectations. We wanted to experience a meal as if we were back home in Honduras and this was not it. When I explained to Frank that we were leaving he stated that they had to make a few changes to the menu and to the look of the restaurant because of the location with hopes to show it's customers that Honduran food does not have to be something so "simple" or "too casual" which I understand but...sadly, the ambiance did NOT do it for any of us, which were 7 adults and 3 kids; total of 10.

Visited Chucherias Hondurenas for lunch Sunday. Our group of four were all extremely pleased with the whole experience. The atmosphere with the soft background music was relaxing, a very pretty spot that made you feel like you were on vacation in Honduras. We were greeted outside by a friendly young man who offered to open a side door for us so we would not have to walk all around the building to the front door which we thought was very considerate as it was quite warm out. The amazing hospitality continued as Kai turned out to be our server. He was excellent as was everything that we ordered.WE stared with pupusas which were really tasty and definitely homemade from scratch. I ordered lentil soup which I planned to share with my husband, but staff was kind enough to send out samples for the whole table to try.Soup was delicious as were the salads and yucca fries.
For entrees we had octopus, tender roasted pork. steak fajitias rice and black beans & sweet plantains. All were delicious and definitely homemade by the talented chef who even came out to greet us. Our host Juan was very friendly and attentive as well.
We were too full for dessert but had a delicious cup of coffee and were treated to a nice little cookie to finish our meal.
We are all looking forward to returning for another wonderful meal. Unfortunately we can only visit on Sundays so we probably will not have the opportunity to hear the live music shows. But I am certain that would make the experience even more enjoyable.
Thank you Juan for stopping in to our restaurant and telling us about Chucherias. We would never have known about it otherwise and would have missed your wonderful restaurant.
We highly recommend Chuchurias Hondurenas to anyone who appreciates real good homemade Spanish food.
