“Call before you visit to make sure it's open”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

We love touring vintage homes and were looking forward to seeing the Lilian House. We checked online for the opening times and stopped by on Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. We were disappointed to find the "not open" sign outside. Then we drove in the driveway to look at the sign in the house window, and it said that should have been open on Wednesdays from 1-4. There was no one in sight, so we left. Remember, call first to make sure it's open before you visit.

“Wonderful historic legacy and renovation; great guides (and ghost)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Mrs Burgyone and Frida Kahloe took me and my wife on a trip back in time both into their lives and the life of Lilian Place. The oldest house in Daytona has undergone a great renovation and is still evolving into a cultural center in association with the Hotchkiss House next door. We were introduced to the resident ghost, Lucille, who opened the drawer in the cabinet in the attached photo. This is a great place for entertaining history and fascinating people. A $5 donation per person is appreciated, but low cost for the value.

“Interesting historic place - beautiful view”

Wonderful tour guide - lots of details about the house and it's contents. Many, many antiques. Connection to "The Open Boat" as Crane supposedly stayed there after coming ashore.

“Nostalgic Remembrance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

If you want to experience a taste from an era gone by you should visit LILIANS PLACE.
This victorian house is located close to the Halifax river. It is very well kept and exhibits the charm
of a past with a story of mystery within its walls.

You are guided trough the house and for more than an hour you are informed of its history,
its renowned visitors of the past , and of Lucille a former resident and ghost who is
believed to be still in the house .

I acknowledge the efforts to preserve our history in every way for this is the legacy to future
generations.
