“Another Great Stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2012

This was my second time staying at this facility! We booked a two bedroom suite. We ended up with a nice ocean "view". We requested ocean front but I am not sure how you go about truly getting one of those rooms. We were on 5th floor which was constantly being bothered by nesting pigeons. They had babies in our vent on the patio which was NOT fun dodging them flocking and pooping all over the place. I would encourage a room higher up to avoid the pigeon issues. There were no housekeeping issues. The front desk was very accommodating. The activities were great as well. We will be back but would love to know the secret to get that ocean front room! It was another great visit.. .Thank you!

Room Tip: Request ocean front (good luck) but if you can't have front then request NORTH side of the hotel...

My boyfriend and I booked a stay through groupon for valentines day weekend. The outside of the building is old and would make you think the place isn't the nicest. The second we walked in the resort that flipped upside down, we were in complete shock. Both of us work in the hotel industry, I am a front desk agent myself. Lateisha was the girl at the front desk during most of our stay and she was absolutely amazing. She gave us all the information we wanted, she was very friendly and helpful in every aspect. Our room was to die for, we had the most amazing vacation ever, thanks to the daytona beach regency. The views were gorgeous, the atmosphere was amazing and the employees were wonderful. I would highly recommend the regency to anyone and everyone, and we will most definitely be back time and time ago. It was money well spent and I can't wait to return.

Very disappointed that we rented the two room suite for two nights via bookit that was suppost to be OCEANFRONT view as my family whom haven't experienced the ocean and we received dumpster view of the adjacent motel, significant other and myself are frequently in daytona for weekends and can see the dumpster in any other area!! Our rooms were never freshened and the customer service from the front desk was in the toliet, very rude and demeaning, and when a concern was brought to there attention of the fold out bed being broken no offer was given to have it fixed, so sleeping on a broken bed and were very uncomfortable. VERY VERY disappointed.

Rooms were huge and the service from the employees was beyond amazing! Stopped randomly in Daytona and the host gave me a room for very cheap and from the time I walked in until the time my luggage was in the room was no more than 10minutes! If you're looking for a place to respect you as long as your respect them then this is the place to be! I've never met a more hopeful group of people as far as hotels go!

Room Tip: Room 1 on each floor will give you a double balcony view!

We stayed at the Daytona Beach Regency for one week in early March 2012. We expected to find some Spring Break activity but didn't expect to also find Bike (Motorcycle) Week as well. We had a great time. The hotel was booked solid but handled everything very well. The hotel is very well located right on the beach within a couple of blocks of the main street where much of the bike week activities took place. We were able to park our car for free and walk anywhere we wished to go in the downtown area. Our one bedroom unit was large and overlooked the pool and the ocean. The room did not have washers and dryers in the unit but there was a free washer and dryer on the floor. The fitness center is small and could have used one fewer machines but we never found it crowded. The pool area is ample and the bar/snackshop at the pool, with waiter service around the pool, was nice to have. You walked out a back gate from the pool to the beach which, despite being in Spring Break and Bike Week, was never crowded. A very family frinedly hotel and setting.

Room Tip: The best rooms will be on the ocean end or at least as close to the ocean end as possible on either...

The title pretty much sums it up. This was one of the finest rooms we've ever stayed in, space wise. Loved the layout. They basically gave us a larger one bedroom suite with a kitchen and joined it with a one bedroom suite with a kitchenette to make one huge room for us and the two kids. We ended up hosting 12 for Easter dinner, and everybody was comfortable and enjoyed watching the Masters with us. The room was maybe 800 sq feet?

Wish they could guarantee oceanfront, but they don't. That was one minor "minus". We had a few of the laundry loading area for the Wyndham, the city, and a sliver of the ocean. Still, that was OK and we enjoyed the ocean breeze. Not the end of the world because the room was great.

The price was great!

Now for the negative, the front desk lady was very nice, but we did show up at the (later than usual, we think) 4 p.m. checkin -- right on time -- and were told our room would be a "few minutes". It wasn't ready until about 5:15 p.m., maybe even 5:30 p.m.--didn't check the clock but it was well past 5. That rubbed me the wrong way. See, I was supposed to initial that I would be out by 10 a.m. (which is a tad early, I think) and the room checkin was 4 p.m. (which is later than most places) and I STILL had to wait with our two toddlers for more than an hour to get in the room? Need to hire more cleaning staff or something. They knew they had whiffed, too, because they made a little "i'm sorry" goodie basket for us and the kids, which was nice.

Anyway ... I was fuming at check-in, and ready to go 3 or maybe even as low as a 2 on the rating. But the place was outstanding, the pool side area was a blast, and the proximity to the bandshell and the pier and everything in that area was great. Parking was easy too. I think our experience was an exception more than a rule. We'd try it again, no doubt.

Oh, and also -- I slept better here than 95 percent of other hotels I stay at, and hey ... gotta mention it ... NO WEIRD SMELLS! Gotta love that!

Room Tip: Tough to say -- the don't guarantee oceanfront.
