“Awesome Hotel”
Reviewed 9 June 2012

First and foremost, it was a very pleasant stay. The only I did not enjoy was the uncontrollable RAIN during my stay. Please check the weather forecast before booking somewhere! Highly recommend that part.

Ok back to the hotel, receptionists are very nice and helpful. Due to the weather, the staff offered a variety of activities for children, as well as, adults. I do have to admit that this is the hotel for families with children. They have an indoor pool and spa, fitness center, and game room. There are vending machines for small accommodation such as detergent, sunscreen, floss, and medication. There is also a small lounge for parents to relax a bit and surf the net.

The great outdoors involve a pool with a water slide and a jacuzzi. Of course there is a beautiful sandy beach right pass the gates. There are plenty of lounge chairs for you to relax and read a book. The tiki bar is also located outside too.

The room was wonderful and comfortable. It was very "home-like" with a flat screen TV in the living room and DVD player ( I think there's a blue-ray player too). The couch is a pull-out bed for your extra guests. The kitchenette is stocked with tableware and household utensils (plates, cups, bowls, pots, etc) I think it is a good idea to stop by a grocery store and stock up on food, more cost efficent since the rooms as everything you need to cook. The bedroom has a king size bed and another flat screen in the room, and an IPOD dock to charge your IPhone.

The bathroom was clean, but the shower was intense with pressure. They have small bottles of toiletries for your convenience and extra toilet paper and towels as well. The bathroom is also spacious.

I absolutely love this hotel! Everything is located perfectly such as the boardwalk, the beach, and many other dining places!

Room Tip: Ask for the North Side for the view of the beach!

Once again, the location provided excellent service, spotless accomodations, and plenty of activities. We come for the beach and seafood, but the Tiki Hut is an excellent place to stop when you are coming back in for lunch, or for the day. The food is great and the drinks are outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel. It is small, so you don't get the impersonal service. The team here cares how well your vacation is going and will do anything to make it a positive experience.

Room Tip: We like the top floor, or the north side of the building.

We stayed here for 2 nights, unfortunately had a south side room, a view of the dumpsters...was disapointed in that, I felt we had booked the room early enough to get the northside.
The room was nice, we had a 2 br/2 bath clean, great linens and towels. Liked the location also, great staff...I would stay again, just not the southside view.

The reviews here are correct, an excellent location and terrific apartment. Knowing about south side views of dumpsters, when the clerk said that was to be my room, I asked if anything on the north side would be available tomorrow and she said another room, 501, would be available in a few hours (it was 1pm.) If you look at the building from the front, this 'room' is the entire space!! Living room on south side with city view and bedroom at the opposite end. You can lay on the king size bed and see the ocean...ah. The deck is on the bedroom north side and while it is noisy and close to traffic, the sliding door does keep the sound out.

The beach is great, the drinks are fine and quick service at the tiki bar, the food is just average, the pool area is clean and never a problem finding a chair.

There is an ihop across the street and a Walgreens a block and a half away for bread, milk, beer, etc. Many other restaurants a block or two away.

I can be picky and have traveled all over the world, from mom and pop hotels to $$ chains. This was just terrific. The people, the place and the location. Thank you Daytona Regency for making this a special vacation.

We just got home after spending 8 days at the DBR and I could not wait to write this review! We made arrangements with the hotel to arrive a day early because we were driving in
from NY back in Janurary. When we arrived we were told that we would have to switch rooms the next day because most reservations start on Sunday.. We explained that with 3 little kids, switching rooms with all of their stuff would really be inconvinient. The AWESOME woman at the front desk told us she understood but the room we were scheduled to stay in on Saturday was scheduled to go down for upkeeping. She gave us the option of staying the night in an unbelievable Ocean Front suite on the 11th floor or an ocean front 2 bedroom on the second floor. As much as we appreciated the upgrade we explained again that moving all of our stuff with the kids would be a pain. She sent us out for lunch and took our cell phone number. She said she would call her manager and see what she could do. Within 15 minutes we got a call from her saying that we would be able to stay in the 2 bedroom second floor Ocean front room.
When we got into our room I was blown away by the huge picture window with a great view of the pool and ocean. There was a very updated, fully stocked kitchen and a large living room. Our 2 older boys (5 &6) shared the queen bed and we were provided with an emaculate porta crib for our 2 year old. There was a large full bath that connected to their room. There was plenty of closet and drawer space for all of their stuff. The master suite was beautiful with an ensuite full bathroom and a seperate whirlpool tub which the kids LOVED! The only negative about our room was the view from the south side of the building. We were pretty much staring at the dumpsters from the hotel next door. I just kept the left side of the curtains drawn and just focused on the ocean view just to the right! Some people compained about hearing the banging of the dumpsters but we never heard anything. The bed was pretty comfy and the sheets were super soft and smelled like bleach (refreshing and clean) our towls were soft and clean as well. One of the greatest featuers for me was the FREE laundry room that was located steps from our door. Having three kids produces lots of laundry and a need for lots and lots of quarters most of the time so this was a huge deal for me. I forgot to bring beach towles but was pleased to see 6 fluffy, big towels were provided for us. At the end of the day you brought them to the front desk and were given new clean ones. The hotel offers rentals on beach chairs which were lot cheaper than using the chair rental guys on the beach. The chairs were simple plastic lounge chairs which worked fine for us. The beach at this end is nice because no driving is allowed which was a worry of mine with little kids. There werent any life guards where we were but the kids didnt go too far in anyway. There was a lot of sea weed on the beech but May through October is Sea turtle breeding time and they are not allowed to clean it. The pool was kept very clean. There was an employee who sprayed down the pool deck and chairs every morning. The water was always clean. A slight warning for people with kids who are not super swimmers...the water slide makes a really strong current and sort of pulls the kids so supervision of small kids is a must. The Tiki bar had great food at reasonable prices ( I loved the shrim peel). The drinks were pretty good too. we loved that Starbucks was in walking distance from the hotel. There is a great little "shop" section about 10 minutes walk from the hotel which was nice. We were rained out one day and walked to the movies!
we have been coming to Daytona for about 7 years now and I have to say this was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in!! I can not say enough about the staff and cleanliness of the place!! We hope to be able to trade our timeshare agian next year!!!!!

My wife, son, and I just returned from a week's stay at the Regency. Bottom line, we will be back.

We stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom suite on the 5th floor on the north side of the building. We had a wonderful side ocean view, and could also see some of the 'action' on the street. The room was very, very clean and well appointed. Everything in room room is high quality and worked great. The Cuisinart coffee maker was awesome. Three LCD tv's made everyone happy as well. Be sure to tip the housekeeping staff.

All of the the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. At the front desk, Thse (I hope the spelling is correct) helped us find the perfect room, and Diane gave us several helpful tips and info.

The food at the pool bar is very good and reasonable. The smoked Mahi-Mahi dip is very good. The burgers are big and good. Philly cheesesteak is also good. The bartender in the pool bar cooks your food right there so it is very fresh. The drinks are good but not enough booze for my taste, but the Voodoo drink was decent. Most of the time we took our own beer, and bought a drink or two. The bartenders work their butts off and are nice and friendly. Be sure to take care of them.

The location is perfect. The boardwalk begins at the next resort. Ocean Walk is a 3 minute walk, which has a 10 screen cinema, several restaurants, and shops. Mai Tai Bar has a great happy hour specials, and you can sit outside like you are on your own patio overlooking the ocean. We heard Sloppy Joes and Wing House are good, but did not make it there (yet).

Daytona Beach has got its act together. The have a large part of the beach looking good. We will return to the Regency every chance we get. I hope your experience is as good as ours.

Room Tip: If you cannot get oceanfront, which you probably cannot, try to get on the north side. There is no b...

It was my husband and my second honeymoon. Celebrating 25 years together! Four children take up all our time and THIS was d only couple's vacation we had taken in 17 years of marriage. We were dumbfounded by the courtesy, comfort and luxury we experienced. The tiki bar was priced extremely reasonably and the drinks and foods were DELICIOUS! We did NOT want to leave. This hotel is spectacular in every way. The ONLY thing I would improve is that the paint on the railings should be updated, but that's all. EVERYTHING else was PERFECT! 5 STARS!!!
