“Absolute relaxation”
Reviewed 26 May 2009

We just got back from a two night stay at this hotel. It was a very pleasant weekend. When we first arrived we were given a room right by the elevator. We requested another room as I am a very light sleeper and the noise would have kept me up all night. The staff were very accomodating and immediately reassigned us. Our room was an oceanfront with a kitchenette. It had a 4 burner electric stove and oven, sink, refrigerator, 2 coffee makers (individual cup and multi-cup), toaster microwave. In addition, there were dishes and silverware settings for four. Everything was clean and in good operating condition. The hotel supplied a dishrag, a drying towel, dish soap and a dish drainer. The cooking utensils included 2 saucepans, a fry pan, a broiler tray, a collander, a spatula and a can opener. They thought of nearly everything! My husband and I travel quite a bit, so we always take our picnic backpack with us. The only thing we used from it this time was our wine glasses (there are no glasses in the room, although they do supply the standard plastic cups and ice bucket, and coffee cups). The staff were really friendly, and the grounds were well kept. We really enjoyed sitting out by the pool and looking out on the ocean. They also have an indoor pool. The cafe was good food at an incredibly reasonable price. We can't wait to book our next stay!

This hotel was perfect for my husband and I. We spent three days here and LOVED IT!!! The place was clean, the people VERY FRIENDLY!! And the breakfast at the Poolside Cafe was awesome. They even have beach chairs and sand toys for those who like to build sand castles. On the north end of Daytona and close to good restaurants and shoping.

We stayed at Tropial winds twice. Once the end of April for one night and again for two nights over mothers day wkend.
We were placed in the hotel thru a travel package and I'm so glad because the experience was GREAT! We took good friends with us and all of us were treated very well!
Safaa was on duty the first time and she arranged for all of us to be near to each other and to have the type of room each couple wanted when we returned two wks later. She was also on duty on our return and was always so kind and helpful.
Franz was the cafe owner and he was a "hoot" to say the least. The food there is awesome and very reasonably priced!
The rooms have been updated and are very comfortable.
So overall this is a great place for a beach retreat!

Not the newest hotel, but the location & the service was great! Employees were very accomodating, and we can't wait to return. The hotel's breakfast & Franz, the server & entertainment, alone, was worth the trip.

We've just returned from a short two day stay at the Tropical Winds Oceanfront Hotel. What a wonderful, relaxed stay we had! From the front desk to the ocean, we could not have asked for a better time. The hotel staff was so obliging, helpful and pleasant. The cafe is very reasonably priced and the waiter, Franz, is Mr. Funny Man himself. He had tears coming from our eyes, we laughed so much. The jokes never stopped. If you stay at the hotel, make sure you go to the cafe. It's open for breakfast and lunch. I think it's open until 2:00 p.m. Lots of food for just a little money. We had a direct ocean view room with a balcony, also queen beds, and a small kitchenette. The beds were comfortable and we were very pleased with the entire experience and will go back again.

We purchased a travel package meaning we would need to attend a 90 minute tour - beware - 90 minutes mean 2 hours of high pressure sales!

By agreeing to the 90 minute tour we would be upgraded to a 4 star, Ocean front efficiency room (microwave, stove, refrigerator) right on the beach. Great location...we were right on the beach. The hotel was horrible. Ripped carpets, horrible smell from teh shower curtain, old soap bars in the shower, tile and grout coming out, sliding glass door that took 2 people to open or shut so the door would not fall out, we were able to see the ocean when the wind blew for there were 3 palm trees the covered our balcony, the indoor pool water was brown...it was finally cleaned the Monday we left, we could not get rid of the flies in the room...

We were sold a bill of goods. Avoid this hotel and Great Times Vacations!

I decided to book and stay here based on the reviews I read on Trip Advisor as I have not been to Daytona for a couple years. To my fellow reviewers who recommended this hotel, Thank You. From check in to check out I had a great experience here in the 4 nights I stayed. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean, comfortable room right on the beach, nice large balcony, great pool area, restauarant on site for breakfast and lunch( fun place to vist!) and a very affordable price, cannot ask for a better experience for a long weekend!! I will be back......
