“The hippies are alive and well in No.Bennington”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

On a whim we gave Marigolds a try. Great whim! The staff shy and very hippiesk, certainly a college community place, but we were made to feel welcome and fed exceedingly well. We loved our white pizza and will be back in the summer upon their return.

“different and better”
Reviewed 26 January 2013

I like my pizzas creative and tasty, not heavy and sodden. Marigold delivers (figuratively), and use local ingredients and creativity in the process. I've never had a bad, or even marginal, item there. If you like a little more refinement on your pizza, this is the place.

“Excellent local/organic food; vegetarian paradise!”
Reviewed 30 December 2012

We were here in December, and we came during a Friday lunch (it is only open for lunch hours on Fridays and Saturdays, only dinner hours for the remaining weekdays). The chef/waiter/DJ was nice and discrete with a great taste in music :)! The place was empty at 3 PM, so there was no wait whatsoever for our meal. The pizza was excellent and very different (we suggest the delicious "Vermont" crust)! This is your go-to pizza place for locavores, vegetarians, vegans, and organic-lovers. There is even a gluten-free crust. Tasty for everyone!

“It was good but not alway consistent”
Reviewed 10 November 2012

Food is good but inconsistent. We go on average twice a month and the standing joke is will the order be correct and will the price be the same as last time. Even when they mess up the order for pizza it is very good. Fresh local organic ingredients. Gluten free options which delights for my wife. They are bit expensive but if they get the order correct it is worth it.

“Excellent Pizza but the service is lacking....”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

We ordered pizzas from Marigold three times during our vacation in Bennington. The pizza is excellent. They have a choice of crusts, organic locally sourced food, and the best non-dairy cheese on earth. But the service and consistency is lacking. We ordered the same sausage and pepper pie three times. The first time we ordered from two cheery girls and the toppings were abundant. The second time there was a different woman and the toppings were missing altogether but charged for (and not noticed until we got back to Bennington). Returned a third time because we were promised free toppings. No one told the surly guy who was there that night (no note, nothing.) We got the toppings but there was so little sausage you had to hunt for it.
They are open 5-9pm but apparently do not show up until 5, so the oven has to be heated and pies made, so really you can't expect food before 5:45 or so...at least by my experience. I would not have bothered with them except the pizza is incredibly good.
