We loved our two week stay here at Geronimo RV Resort. Well maintained grounds, very helpful staff, felt very safe and secure. All sites are concrete paved with nice size concrete patio. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Tom!

This place was a great place to "accidentally land". We made a terrible mistake and booked a campground in gulf shores alabama. We had to leave and leave fast. We found your campground in a passport America book at about 10 pm. I was going to wait and call in the AM but I ended up calling anyway. By my surprise you were in the office and had availability. We went straight there the next morning. Everyone was super nice and everything was super clean. I own a landscape business and could tell you take pride in the grounds. A really top notch place. We can't wait to return!

Great location 2 blocks from the beach. Very well kept. BR's spotless with great showers, WIFI at campsite very fast. First class hookups. Grounds very well kept. Large field adjacent to campsites for dogs to run off leash. Close to outlet mall and a variety of shopping sites. Also close to varied and sundry eating establishments. Friendly very helpful staff.

Room Tip: Having Passport America saves a bunch here!

We wanted to go camping and this campground was the only one that had an available spot. We were supposed to be checking out today, but we decided to leave the 'campground' early yesterday evening. The tenant was unbelievably nice, the park was extremely clean...BUT... Yes, there's a drawback to camping this campground. You absolutely cannot have a campfire. WHAT?? That's right, absolutely NO campfires allowed. And unless you own a $100,000+ rig and drive a brand new vehicle, or walk with a squeak, then you will be stared at and be the talk of the rich snob neighborhood. Really think if we hadn't reserved a spot by phone, that they probably would've made an excuse because we drive a 10 yr old vehicle, camp in a 18' Jayco pop-up and we camp along the Florida panhandle enough that business employees remember our names and campground hosts usually take one of our dogs riding on a golf cart. Thank goodness we didn't bring our bare foot country children on this trip. For such snobby 'rich folks', I myself cleaned the toilet paper out of the shower and sink drains 4 times to keep from being blamed for doing it. There is no access to the bay, nor is there anywhere to park for the public access to the beach. A special thanks to the residence of Destin and Panama for having to deal with the snobs of the community surrounding this campground. Think we'll just stick with Fred Gannon, St Joseph and Cape San Blas. If you're a people person, work hard for what you can afford, have well behaved animals, love campfires, will help anyone in need, and have tattoos, then don't waste your precious time with this campground. Being from Mississippi, we've never had fellow campers act the way they did....

Dear Past Guest,
I am sorry I did not respond to your review sooner I was just made aware of it by TripAdvisor and my staff. I am sorry you felt the need to leave the campground early. We do appreciate the kind words about the staff and that you found our campground clean. Since we are a family owned and managed campground we pride ourselves on keeping a nice and clean park. We have worked hard to build up our quaint park and want to make sure that it remains enjoyable for everyone. We even appreciate you taking the initiative to help us keep our bathrooms clean.

I wanted to take this opportunity to address the issues you raised in your review. You are correct we do not allow campfires on the ground since we have nice Bermuda grass (like what is on the golf courses) between all of the sites. However, we do allow fires in above-ground fire rigs or fire pits which can be purchased at Bass Pro Shop, Walmart or various other stores. If we did not make that clear we apologize.

There are parks in the area that have restrictions on what type of RV’s that are accepted but we do not have any such restrictions. We accept all types of RV’s including several nice horse trailers with living quarters. We feel that everybody’s money spends the same and we don’t discriminate due to age, type, size or looks as long as it is not a hazard to you or other guests.

We get guests from all over the country and even the world but we find most of our guests are from the Southeastern part of the country including my In-laws who are from Meridian, Mississippi. Most of them are hardworking people that we know on a first name basis because they come see us several times a year every year. Most guests love the location of the park because we aren’t surrounded by a lot of homes, condos or housing communities and that is why it is a quiet and comfortable “Hidden Gem” as one of our other guests stated in their review.

Finally, there are 3 beach access points and you are correct the boardwalk at the end of Geronimo Street does not have a parking lot because it is an easement that was granted to the county over 30 years ago. However, there is parking available at the access next to the Surf Hut Restaurant and there is parallel parking on both sides of Scenic Hwy 98 just three quarters of a mile west of the park in front of Majestic Sun. We give everyone a map upon check-in outlining those access points. If you were not made aware of this then we are sorry for the miscommunication.

We wish you all the best with your future travels throughout the panhandle of Florida. Best wishes, Tom

I can't say enough good things about this amazing, safe, cozy, impeccably clean, quiet little perfect park and the friendly helpful owners. They even help everyone back in and get settled. Not a place to party all night....thank goodness! Always nice to get a good nights sleep. We're traveling to California and can only hope to find more little Gems like this.

Room Tip: All sights seem to be perfect. Bring your own grill and table

If you are looking for party central this is not it. If you want a quiet, impeccably clean, friendly rv park this is it. All the amenities were perfect. The lots were large and well set up. My wife and I would certainly stay here again

We almost didn't stay here because of the low ratings on Good Sams RV site but we are very glad we did. We did not want to pay the outrageous price for gulf front properties and decided a couple of blocks off the beach was fine. This park is small but nicely laid out, large concrete pads, enough grass around to walk the dogs and a place to play off leash with them just across the street. The restrooms and laundry facilities are clean which is not the case at many of the rv places we have visited. Because it is away from the busy beach areas it was very quiet.

Room Tip: All the sites are good.
