My husband and I stayed here for a business conference. The building is old and the roof has numerous leaks. The custodians busily arranged buckets on the floor to catch rainwater. Our room was large but forgettable. The bath has extremely limited counter space. No towel bars were in the bath. Housekeeping arranged the towels on the safety grab bars across the room necessitating wetting the bathroom floor to grab a towel. The elevators were slow and the buttons needed a good scrubbing. Front desk staff was friendly and professional. The flooring looks like it was updated within the past five years.
My primary concern is that of security. We were in our room during the afternoon waiting for a storm to pass. A person knocked on our door twice then attempted to use multiple keys to unlock the door. A housekeeper let him in our room! The intruder deftly reached inside and unlocked the door latch. He made it five feet in our room when my husband stopped him. The man had no hotel attire on and wore no badge. He did not introduce himself just apologized and ran out of our room. Security came to investigate and stated they think the man works for the hotel. We were very concerned that this was a coordinated scam.
I will not return to this hotel. I do not recommend it to others.More
