Stayed in 1806 at Pelican beach resort Highly recommend it. Perfect location to reach everything. View from room was incredible. Watched dolphins every morning, water so clear. Beach was cleaned and sand dragged each morning. This condo was in perfect condition and photos on Vrbo are accurate. Owner was accessible however other than to thank him, didn't need him. Perfect get away.

We had a great experience at Unit 1804. The owner was great to deal with, the condo was very well decorated and furnished, and had everything we needed. The view of the gulf was fabulous. For our vantage point we could see dolphins, large schools of fish, and even a ray. The facilities were quite good also.

We love the Resorts of Pelican Beach! We picked this place by chance over 10 years ago and will never stay anywhere else! This fantastic property has it all. Most importantly, IT IS ACTUALLY LOCATED ON THE BEACH. No trams, no long walks on overpasses or across roads. Walk out the door and you are on the sand!

The Pelican features two towers; the main Pelican (beachside) tower and the Terrace tower, which is midway across the parking lot closer to the road. The Terrace is newer, but it does require you to walk across the parking lot to get to the beach. The resort is located towards the Fort Walton end of the town. (It is directly across the street from the Big Kahuna waterpark). We love the easy access to the main strip. There are lots of shops and restaurants at your fingertips. The major malls do require about a 10-15 minute drive through. We have stayed in both 1 and 2 bedroom condos in the main tower. We have been equally pleased with both. The rooms are always clean and well appointed. Even the one bedroom unit can comfortably accommodate 6 people. Remember that you are renting a condo and not a hotel room. You will be on your own as far as making the beds, taking out the trash and cleaning up. Maintenance has always done a good job quickly fixing any problems we have run into with our units. On a few of our many visits, we have had internet access problems that a third party seems to handle. On the one occasion it wasn’t resolved in a few hours, the resort wound up crediting our account as a courtesy.

The beach itself is gorgeous though you are technically only allowed permanent access to the beach directly in front of the tower. While this is quite a large space, it does fill up quickly especially when you factor in all the rental chairs the resort puts up. I would love to see them have more space for people who are just interested in bringing their own towels and chairs. The resort has two pools and a hot tub at the main tower that is just barely enough to get by for the volume of guests they handle. I would really love to see them add one more of each. There’s already a great space for them ready to go by the Tiki Bar that is currently a seldom used sundeck. The resort provides gas grills which we love using. Parking is adequate though you can never get as close as you’d like. Luggage carts can be a challenge to find especially at peak check in times. The elevators are somewhat slow and when you factor in a twenty story tower, you can spend a lot of time waiting on them. We usually opt for a second or third floor unit and then take the stairs. Staff is always very professional and helps me when I ask but I’ve never felt like they really care about the quality of my stay. Still, these are all minor gripes. This place really sells itself and is great.

The clean, comfortable, always updated units and beachfront views from our balcony will keep us coming back. Pelican Beach is already a tremendous value, but when you consider that returning guest automatically get 20% off their rates, it’s a no brainer. If you are considering a condo in Destin, the Resorts of Pelican Beach is definitely the place to be.

Just returned from spring break. Our 1 BR, 2 BA unit on the 9th floor was sooo beautiful! New, clean, modern, Pottery Barn decor, stainless appliances, bunkbeds with TVs at the foot of each bunk. Gulf front condo - the view is amazing! The only issue with the resort (as others have said) is the small beach. It really is too small for the number of guests staying at the resort, which makes it very crowded. It is even roped off on both sides, which made me feel like I was in a beach playpen of sorts. We decided to do the beach service after talking to them and were glad we did. The cost was about $25/day or $20/day if you bought for the week. Another note - the location of the resort is in mid-Destin, which is the most touristy, Gatlinbug-like part of Destin. Next time, we will stay someplace on Scenic Gulf Drive, which is also gulf front, but seems less touristy.

Stayed for 4 nights over spring break with the family. The location was great - close to many restaurants and activities. Rooms are just steps from the pools and the beach. Rooms fit family of four comfortably. Master bedroom was roomy and the bunk beds worked well for the kids. Beautiful views of the beach from the balcony - could even see lots of dolphins. We would recommend this place and would stay here again.
