This is a small museum but packed with information about the history of Destin and the fishing industry there.
There is a large display of the local fish - all stuffed and mounted behind glass. Very informative to see the actual size of some of these fish!
Lots of photos and info about sport fishing and fishing contests - some still ongoing, some no longer in existence, such as a shark fishing contest that was discotinued due to concerns of extinction.
The museum personell were friendly and so informative. Answered all of our questions, including "Why are there no shells on the beaches here?" You'll have to visit the museum to find the answer to that question!
I would say allow a minimum of one hour here. We spent 1 1/2 hours. Not interactive for children. Lots of reading required.
