A wonderfully informative place to visit. Informal tour given by a fourth generation founding family member. She was excellent and made the visit very worthwhile. Her explanation of why Destin is a great fishing location as well as why there are so few shells on the beach was wonderful. Bobby &Suzi D.

This was truly a very informative time. We learned a lot about the history of Destin as well as about what drives the cities economy today. Great time. The ladies running the place are very welcoming as well as informative.

We went to the Destin History Museum with a tour from our hotel today. When we pulled up I thought to myself that this was going to be a cheesy, boring place. Boy, I was very pleasantly surprised! The docent, a descendant from the MARLER family - who were early settlers of the area, was very informative and knowledgeable. She had personal stories and information on the area and you could tell was truly enjoying her job.
The museum in the the old library, which looked more like an old house to me, but had some very interesting artifacts, mounted fish of all species imaginable which had been caught in the area and donated by private citizens, old maps, as well as personal pictures galore.
It turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. Great way to spend a hour or two!

What a interesting little place packed with tons of information and pictures on the history of Destin. It was so nice to look at all the old pictures and read some of the newspaper articles.
