We planned to go to the Inn for our anniversary/birthday, upon arrival the staff was very friendly. We stayed in the Coastline Suite, which was perfect because we had a view of the sand dunes and gulf to the left, the balcony was great, but the seats out there were very uncomfortable. The room was a perfect size, decent size bathroon, when we walked into our room there was a tray with red wine, 2 wine glass, a bunch of grapes and a rose, it was perfect! I have to say, staying in a "bed and breakfast" you expect superior bedding, I cannot say that about this place. The pillows were very comfortable, blankets were basically worthless, they were more decorative then anything. The matress at best was avergeage. My husband came home with a sore neck! Of course on a Saturday night everyone wants to go out to dinner, the recommendations were slim, ranging from bar food, to outside grills, which is fine, but would like a better selection as we know Destin has some great dining. We decided to go to the "Royal B" we were greeted outside of our cab with an umbrella which was great, they told us we could not get a reservation until 8pm , we walked in and the place was empty! A very rude waitress said hello to us, then ran away, and then started to talk badly about a man that she was training, we immediately asked for a new waiter. The manager did so I have to say the overall dining experience was strange, the food was great, but when you want to dine, it isn't just about the food! I wouldn't go back, I guess I should be a little nicer they just opened in May 2007, but it seemed as though they just opened a week ago! I can't say we will return to the Henderson Park Inn, furthermore the breakfast as best was marginal, it reminded me of a holiday inn continental breakfast with a chef preparing omlets, pretty disappointing, we might as well gotten the coffee at the nearest gas station. It's too bad because the property is expectional, some of the greatest beaches I have ever seen, if you stay here, don't expect to get a drink whenever you want the bar opens for an hour during happy hour where you get 1 free drink each, with a cheesy ticket when you check in! Certainly doesn't measure up to the price of the rooms.
