We attended a wedding at Beso Del Sol and spent the night. The wedding venue offered a beautiful sunset. Being Florida residents it is one of the best we have seen. Our room was above the pool area and during the day time it was quite loud. Luckily the bar closes early so this did not impact our night’s sleep. What did impact the night’s sleep was a very loud full size refrigerator in the room and the bright outside light that shined into the room through the glass front door. The other problem we were unable to resolve is the cold water in the shower. The tankless electric hot water heater worked for the sinks, but didn’t have enough juice to make the shower bearable. All of the above could be solved with the help of maintenance. The women working the check in area offered great customer service.

Thanks for being our guest and for providing us with constructive feedback. We enjoyed hosting the recent wedding party here at Beso Del Sol. The bride and groom were thrilled with the accomodations. Yes, we do have a lively crowd at our poolside tiki bar, glad this did not disturb your sleep. We will follow up on the comments about the refrigerator and the water temp. Hope you'll come see us again!

Very nice staff, prompt check in. Rooms lack for natural light and can be dark. Walls are extremely thin and do caution light sleepers you will hear a great deal of other guests and outdoor noise. I would suggest hotel place felt pads on chair legs perhaps would help a bit with noise between floors. Nice perk that hotel has bicycles to use. Tiki bar on site does stay busy during certain times so if you are looking for super quiet resort perhaps not best pick. Overall clean with some items showing light wear.

Beso Del Sol

Beso Del Sol is a hidden pearl on Florida's gulf coast. Situated less than four miles away from Clearwater beach to the South and Honeymoon Island to the North, Beso Del Sol is situated in the quaint village of Dunedin.

With all the a amenities that Beso Del Sol has to offer, the best was the friendly and caring staff. I felt that each and every team member that I encountered was genuinely invested in assuring that I enjoyed my stay. That wonderful attitude started at Check-in with Mary who assisted us in checking into a 1-bedroom unit, she was wonderful. We enjoyed a two week stay in early February 2014 as part of a timeshare exchange.

The resort offers free bicycle rentals to allow you to get around Dunedin or hop on the nearby Pinellas trail. The pool deck overlooks the bay and offers unequaled nightly views of the setting sun. Be sure to take advantage of the free sunset shooters offered at the pool deck Tiki bar.

If you boat or fish, Beso Del Sol has both a fishing pier and boat slips.

Now to help set the expectations of others looking to stay at Beso Del Sol, if you are accustomed to the comforts of a Marriott or Hilton property, you might be a little disappointed, but what Beso Del sol lacks in comfort, it makes up for in service and location.

For our tastes, we found the beds to be a little too soft, almost like sleeping on a cloud, but that's a preference that some folks may like.

The resort is comprised of one or two bedroom suites with separate sleeping and sitting areas and a small kitchen area. There are also studios available, which are more like a standard hotel room with a small mini fridge and two burner stove. Only the studios offer a view of the bay, the remaining units offer a view of nearby buildings or grassy areas.

The kitchen in our one bedroom was small, but suitable for making breakfast.

I should also mention that the resort is currently undergoing an expansion of the tiki bar area, so we did encounter some construction activity and noise, but check with the resort to see when the construction is scheduled for completion when you call to book your reservation.

We enjoyed our stay and plan on returning to Beso Del Sol year after year.

Thank you for the candid review. We especially appreciated your kind remarks about the friendly and caring attitude of our staff. Glad that you enjoyed our waterfront location, free bike use and sunset shooters at the tiki bar. Expansion of the tiki bar should be completed by early March. Thanks for being our guest and we look forward to your return again soon!

We ended up here after our room in Madeira Beach was horrible and we called our travel company and they moved us here. Nice clean room - a little smaller than the one bedroom condos we are used to getting but it was fine for 2 people - wouldn't want to have more people in there. Shower was very small and had no light in it. Cool to room temp water in shower for 3 days - finally warm to hot after that. At least it is Florida and I didn't mind. The coffee maker and toaster didn't work and the stopper in the sinker didn't hold water but the very kind staff replaced all very quickly. A few dishes were dirty in the cupboards but overall kitchen was good. No dishwasher but they gave me more hand dishwashing liquid when I requested it. No washer and dryer in unit - only one in entire place and it was in the other building. Clean room - a little pricey to wash 3 loads - about $12. 2 pools - one is not heated - both are right by the very popular and busy Tiki Bar - I did not go swimming there because of this. Gorgeous sunsets - fishing dock - a little dangerous for younger children - railing only on one side. Younger couples and singles would love this place. We do love the location in Dunedin and may stay again because of this and the very friendly staff - my room key wouldn't work one evening and the staff had me in my room in a matter of minutes.

Room Tip: The studio rooms face the water - gorgeous sunsets here - one bedroom condo has no view (only other...

Thanks for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. It should be noted that of our 2 pools, the heated pool located furthest from the tiki bar activity is designated exclusively for resort guest's use. We hope you will come back to see us again soon.

Stayed here in December 2012 and back again January 2014. This resort is in a perfect location, being extremely close to Honeymoon Island and downtown Dunedin. Rooms are clean, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing quiet stay. All staff are very attentive and make you feel at home. Check out the sunset by the pool. Cannot wait to return. Thanks to all who made our stay memorable.

Quite an unfortunate vacation....nothing but problems. We had to occupy two units during our week long time-share exchange and had the same issues in both units.

- Ants everywhere (in our food, toilet paper, toothpaste)
- Mold in shower
- Oxidizing on all faucets in kitchen and bathroom
- Filthy floors throughout
- Dripping & Noisy AC units
- Uncomfortable sofas and beds (on make-shift frames NOT a true headboard w/ frame)
- Dirty swimming pool around Labor Day weekend
- Front doors do not have proper weather stripping so what little air you actually get to crank out of the little AC units immediately escapes
- Towel rack not available
- Foam falling out of the middle of the bathroom door

My attached pictures are of the issues and show the condition of these units. Before departing the property to head home, we had Bill, the maintanence man for the property, do a final walk-through. After asking him to view the black stuff at the front door, he commented that it was mold and wondered why house-keeping had not made him aware of its presence. He also thought that the foam coming out of the bathroom door was odd, but that it was not a door sweep of any kind. Please feel free to message me if you would like more details and conclusions about this property. You can absolutely believe every word of the previous reviewers’ that rated this property other than "great".

The BEST part of the trip was eating at a local restaurant called "The Black Pearl" that I had researched prior to going to Fl for our anniversary. Hands down the best meal I've had in the states, second to my first favorite which was in Paris, France. ;) DO NOT MISS IT! A TRUE GEM IN THIS QUAINT LITTLE TOWN (in downtown Dunedin)!

Room Tip: get a room close to the elevator as the zig-zag outter walkway is a nightmare to maneuver

Thank you for your candid remarks although it appears that our efforts to satisfy you during your stay were inadequate. Yes, we do occaisionally experience ants in our condos in the warm weather months, especially when guests leave their French doors open to their balconies (which also causes the AC units to drip condensation). Not quite sure what more we could have done to ensure your comfort as all bedding and furnishings were less than 5 years old at the time of your stay. We certainly do not have "makeshift" bed frames but it does appear that the frame may not have been properly attached to the headboard in one of your pix. Your review indicates that you were a "timeshare exchange" guest. Accordingly, the condo was cleaned prior to your arrival, however as daily housekeeping service is not provided to exchange guests your tile floors are of course subject to becoming dirty (which is 1 reason why we provide a midweek housekeeping and linen/towel exchange service). Thank you for bringing the gap at the top of the entrance door to our attention. The dark discoloration around the door frame was more dust than mold, however, our maintenance dept should have been more proactive in rectifying the problem. We try to do our best to ensure a pleasant experience for all of our guests and we hope that perhaps you'll give us another opportunity as you indicated how much you enjoyed the location and our great guest services!

My annual destination. Can't wait for my check in. Wonderful staff and lovely decor. Whether I am off to Caladedi Island or Country Side Mall or downtown Dunedin it is great to come home each night for sunsets at the poolside. See you soon.

Room Tip: Bike to almost everything. Bus (clean) right at the front door. Nothing like it anywhere.
