The Owen House is the perfect place to stay when visiting Campobello Island. Jan, the host, was helpful in recommending places to visit and eat. The location is quiet but close to everything (5 minutes to the FDR cottage). The home is on a peninsula with water views from three sides. The front is only 100 yards, across a lawn, to the water. The house is old, but has character. Our room (#4) was large and comfortable, once you got used to the sloping floors (Hey - its an old, historic house). The bath was small but usable and had a big old fashioned tub. Breakfast was served in the dining room, around a big table. Food was spectacular (they are right about the blueberry pankcakes - great!). The highlight of the place is the beautiful sun porch. It is quiet, tree shaded, with screened/glass windows. A big fireplace and the ship models add the perfect touch. A great place to relax, read, or watch some of the FDR/ER videos.
