“Great food and outside under the trees.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

Love this restaurant! Been there 4 times now, and the food is remarkable. The Black and Blue hamburger is as good as any hamburger I have ever eaten, and better than most. Their breakfasts are cooked to perfection, hot and delicious. Fantastic Rueben sandwiches! When on Dearborn Street, it is a great place to rest and enjoy the weather, while drinking a cold beer and eating something special. Try the shrimp benedict...Wow. Sorry, have to say it again. Love this restaurant!!

“Amazing food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2014

Just came from having lunch here....without a doubt the best Hollandaise sauce I have ever eaten. I had the veggie benedict which was amazing, my husband had the Rueben & he too was very impressed. Generous servings, good prices, great service & atmosphere...................did I mention the homemade breads? We will definitely be returning soon & recommending to all our friends !!

“Walking on Dearborn? This is Worth A Visit.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

This is a place that has changed hands several times over the last decade, and each time it has started off with flying colors and really good marketing ideas and then a combination of the energy available to keep all this up and the turning of the seasons seems to put the place back to sleep.
But this week my wife and I were wandering through an art fair held right out in front of the restaurant on Dearborn Streeet. The Ole Time cafe with newish picnic tables and all the shade of the live oaks out front just seemed to call to us, and so we went in for lunch. My wife enjoyed the open faced tomato with chicken salad, and I had starchy New England clam chowder and a half sandwich.
Honestly it was a good stop in the midst of the art show, nice to sit down, get out of the sun and nice to have a cold iced tea and a bite to eat--so as the realtors say, location, location, location. If you're looking for a good place to stop, just know the same meals are available in every restaurant in America. But this worked out just fine for us. The Ole Time charged us $22.50 for this lunch.

“COOL SHADE - GREAT LUNCH”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

It was a good ten degrees cooler in the shade of the huge oak tree. Had lunch sandwiches and everyone was very satisfied. When we move to Englewood this will be a favorite for sure. Old time charm.

“A repeat favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2013

We return often for breakfast or lunch under the spreading live oak tree on Dearborn and watch the town go by. The staff is friendly and the food is dependably good. Our visitors ask to go there as soon as they are stettled in.
