“We LOVED this place!! Highly Recommend it”
Reviewed 21 May 2008

My husband found this place online and booked a weekend stay for our anniversary. When we got there I could not have been happier. It was very cute and clean looking. I liked the fact that it was a small resort so there wasn't very many people there and it felt very comfortable. We stayed in room #1 which was the closest room to the beach. When we sat on our little porch in the front of the room we were practially on the beach! It was amazing. The room was nicely decorated and inviting. The kitchen had a lot of stuff to use like pots, pans, dishes, silverware, knives and cooking utensils, dish towel, sponge and soap...anything you would need to cook with. The only down side was this room came with two twin beds, but we made do with the futon on the livingroom that was kind of like a full size or small Queen. They had Direct tv so there was free HBO. But who needed that when the beach was right there. The people there were really nice, and the place was very quit which was what we wanted. I highly recommend this place for people who want a quite romantic place to stay. There weren't any kids which was nice for us since we wanted it to be quiet. There is really nothing close by except for one main road about 10 minutes away that has some restaurants and shops, but nothing in walking distance which is kind of what we wanted. Of course when it came time for check out, we didn't want to leave. But I know that we will come back again : )

  • Liked — It was clean and inviting and we were right on the beach. Also that it had a kitchen.
  • Disliked — That the room closest to the beach was the one with two twin beds. We wanted a queen but also wanted to be closest to the beach

Stayed two nights and throughly enjoyed the property and the fact that the beach is just few steps from your door. Stayed in Unit 2 that had 1 bedroom with twin beds and a pull out sofa in the front area. Also had a full kitchen and small bathroom with tub and shower. The area is more like 'old Florida' without the condos and commercialization of other nearby towns. Overall the property was in good shape, clean, nice (smaller) pool and friendly staff. The beach is incredible and we enjoyed the sunsets. I would stay there again but longer next time. There probably are not many places left in Florida like this.

Spent four nights a couple of weeks ago. Totally undisturbed - beautiful views of the ocean - inviting warm pool. If you're looking for a place to just unwind, where you can read, swim, layout, walk the beach, etc., this is it! We'll be back.

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend Christmas and New Year at the Seafarer. The location is amazing - right on the beach which kept me obsessed for hours finding shells and sharks teeth and surrounded by pelicans, egrets, herons, sandlings and were lucky enough to see dolphins many times and a pod of 6 came past on our last day! We loved the Seafarer - great apartment with well equiped kitchen, heated pool, great views of the sea from our room (no 9). I can not rave about this enough - i would move in tomorrow and never leave. We had the most wonderful relaxing holiday ever. I can not wait to go back. For us this underdeveloped part of Florida is heaven.

We arrived on Saturday and stayed until Monday. It ain't the Atlantis on the Bahamas, but if you have kids, this is a great place to expose them to nature. Of course, there was some nature we could have done without. We had a love bug swarm descend on the Key while we were there, but that's hardly the fault of the Seafarer's management, so we dealt with them the best we could. I tell you, those little buggers get EVERYWHERE!!!

Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay at a relatively reasonable rate.

A very enjoyable little reort. Right next to the Manasota Beach Pavillion, where there are often fun events going on. This place is directly on the beach, and you would be hard pressed to find a better sunset. It doesn't get much better than watching the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico and sippin on a rum thang. There was abundant wildlife seen through out our stay. We saw snowy egrets, great blue herons, an osprey, pelicans and all sorts of songbirds. We saw a few jacks while snorkelling, and were even treated to a pod of dolphins about 15 yards offshore! Seeing them swimming so close was a real treat, but hearing them chattering to each other was definitely the wildlife highlight of my trip.

The snowy egret that was hanging around was in no way shy about wanting a little of what you were having for breakfast.

  • Liked — Location location location!!! Close to everything, but far enough to get in some great stargazing!!
  • Disliked — Air freshener had a funky odor to it.

We stay the Seafarer every August. This is the 3rd year that we returned there and had the same room. The hostess/manager makes anyons stay most enjoyable. This resort is clean and tidy. It sits right on the beach and you also have a pool. You have all the conforts from home but you are away. The nights are so beautiful. Like a picture post card. Walking on the beach or just sitting outside on your own deck is just breath-taking. We will be returning tp the Seafarer next August/2006. Our reservations are already in place/
