“Sunburst 121, a great option!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

Sunburst Condos are the real deal! Booking was a breeze over the net, and the keys were waiting for us at the office.

The unit, 121, which overlooked the Gulf was really great. Clean, with aircon on, and everything one needed. Dishwasher, 3 Tv sets, wireless internet, beach furniture, and completely stocked with plates, utensils, glasses and so on. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a little tight, but the living area and kitchen very spacious. Both bedrooms are en suite with showers, but the balcony can only be accessed through the one bedroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Downstairs there was a laundry, and gas barbeques and seating right on the beach.

We fished, with moderate results, in Lemon Bay, across the road, where the Bay side units are situated. The jetty was clean, and the view pretty nice too.

You walk to the available restaurants, either along the beach or the road. It's honestly 10 to 15 minutes, depending where you eat, and there are around 4 or 5 places. Our favorite is Flounders, where we've been coming for a couple of years.

Manasota Key is fabulous because it can't really be developed much more than it has been. So a couple of t shirt and towel shops a pizza place, 2 motels, and that's it for the commercial side of it. The beach is unspoiled and not at all crowded, the sea is warm and calm. It's worth a visit and Sunburst Condos a very good option to stay at.

Room Tip: It's worth paying the little extra for the gulf front view.

We stayed in unit 232. LOTS of wonderful new things--king bed, beautiful leather sleeper sofa, two leather rocker recliners, twin beds, linens, dishes, silverware, glassware, décor. The kayak launch/landing area has been dramatically improved and is great! It is so nice to have access to the beautiful beach on the gulf side and the wonders of nature in Lemon Bay. Other great amenities are the pool and fishing dock on the bay side. There are sunbathing decks, grills and laundry on both the beach and bay sides. Four restaurants are within walking distance as well as a convenience store and a beach gear store. Sunburst is a great place!

This was a last minute rental for us during the Christmas break 2013. We wanted Captiva or Sanibel but nothing was available. I'm glad we found Manasota Key. It was quiet and quite pleasant. We rented #112 Gulfside. It was very clean but the decor was true 1980's Florida.
It had a king bedded master and another bedroom with 2 twin beds. Each bedroom had a toilet vanity area and shared a shower that connected them. There was a full kitchen that we stocked with food from Publix a short drive back to the mainland. There was also a convenience store within walking distance. There were plenty of linens and beach towels and a laundry room close by. Beach chairs were stored under the stairs but people from another condo kept taking them if we didn't get there first. Several restaurants and pubs were also within walking distance. The beach was a few steps away with a deck and barbecue area nearby. The small pool was across the street by the bay but it was clean and had several lounge chairs and umbrella tables. We spent a very pleasant week. It is a two hour drive to Naples if your want to explore the west coast. Gasparilla Island is also a nice drive.

Room Tip: I prefer being near a beach so the gulfside units were my choice. Sundown was beautiful each night...

Unit 121 gulf side extremely well equipped with everything you could possible want - great to visit a self catering unit that encouraged people to leave spices and condiments for future use. Lovely modern, bright seasidey furnishings...great view of ocean from master bedroom and plenty of chairs on balcony for whole family to enjoy sundowners and view the magnificent sunsets. Aircon a but noisy at night. Also a bit inconvenient to have to cross the road from the gulf side to bay side to visit swimming pool which was covered most of the time we were there (Christmas) and to take recycling/trash but nothing major. Enjoyed quiet fishing from bayside jetty and visit from bait-stealing white egret! Best beach we've found for finding plenty of fossilised sharks' teeth with no need for special sieves! But not quite so enticing for swimming as close by Venice or Siesta and beach was quite windy.... but spent many happy hours on sheltered shared wooden deck and searching for shells.Sadly we were there during a red tide outbreak when literally hundreds of mullet were washed up all along the beach - everyone walking the beach had irritating little coughs for days including us but such a serious outbreak of red tide we know was unusual and we were just unlucky...and went inland for visits during this time. Perfectly located for visit to Boca Grande. Two large supermarkets within 5 minutes drive off island in Englewood as well as well stocked department store and Walmart Superstore just 10 minutes drive away. Free public tennis courts by library just past Walmart but go early in morning if possible as they get busy. White Elephant pub/restaurant five minutes walk from Sunburst has live music every night and great value local fish dishes.

Room Tip: Would only want to stay in Gulf side room facing ocean - other units facing sideways on Gulf side ha...

My husband and I stayed at Condo #121 with my mother and her fiancee during our April break. We cannot say enough about the accommodations: clean, well-equipped and great location--all with a spectacular view! Access to the gulf was great with a deck through the dunes. The beach is VERY shelly, as is most of Manasota Key, but makes for great shelling and shark tooth searching. We were pleasantly surprised by the manatee and dolphin sightings on an almost daily basis. The condo unit itself had plenty of room for 4 adults, though the shower off the second bedroom was VERY small... it worked for a week, but I wouldn't want to deal deal with it for longer than that. It made shaving my legs quite a chore! All in all, I would definitely go back as the management was very accommodating prior to rental, answered many of my mother's questions, and gave great recommendations while visiting for the week!

We had a great stay at Sunburst Condos last summer. Gorgeous 2-bedroom condo (#112 Gulfside), spotlessly clean & very well-equipped, including wireless internet access, towels, beach chairs, & pretty much anything else you could think of! RIght on the beautiful quiet beach too - just across the boardwalk & you're there! Booking was easy with the helpful Manager Jim, & the sunsets........simply stunning! We all loved it. This was our 2nd vsit to Manasota Key, & it definitely won't be our last!!
