“Another wonderful stay”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

This was our second stay at the Pearl Beach. We loved it so much the first time we were excited to return but wondered if things will be as good the second time......it was. Another two night stay in room 5, directly on the beach was heaven. I think I said in my first review there is nothing fancy or high end about the Pearl Beach but it feels like home and with Cindy and Lindy to greet you like old friends it made it another wonderful stay.

We spent one night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was lovely (bar a noisy fridge) with everything we needed (and some much appreciated extras e.g. Water, microwave popcorn). The location is fairly out of the way and there aren't any amenities locally or within walking distance. Would recommend to stock up in supplies before arriving. The beach is lovely and quiet and great for hunting for sharks teeth with plenty of wildlife to see. Staff very friendly and helpful!!

My husband and I stayed last year and by a long shot this year was even more amazing! Many upgrades have been made and it really shows. Speaking of up grades this includes Fred and Cindy who gave us a friendly welcome and where very professional. The other staff was friendly and helpful as well. The room was fresh and clean. The location is wonderful and the beach is clean. The sunsets on the deck are breathe taking; a slice of heaven right there for us. We met many other nice people who like us were running from the snow at home. Thank you Fred, Cindy for being so accommodating. The only part of our stay that was less then wonderful is that our vacation wasn't long enough. Our week flew right by. Next year we are def. staying longer :)

My husband and I stayed in room #11 and enjoyed the property, the room, and the hospitality of Fred and Cindy. The Pearl makes me think that this is what "old" Florida use to be like. Something I've always wanted to experience. The room was super clean the bed comfortable and we enjoyed the fresh flowers left for us in our room, the tips for finding shark teeth, the beach adirondack chairs, and the shell baskets. Everything was so picturesque, awesome sunsets. Hope I get to come back again. We also enjoyed Flounders on the south end of the island - cold beers and good entertainment.

So enjoyed our stay at Pearl Beach Inn, a little old and outdated but a beautiful setting. No crowds just open beach and a peaceful setting. Met a lot of really nice people who were also running from the cold, meeting on the deck in the late afternoons to watch the sunset and visit with each other. The rooms were clean some being a little more updated than others, understand they are slowly updating all rooms. Had a great time and would most certainly go back.

Room Tip: Better view of beach from rooms two, three, four and five

We recently stayed for a week at the Pearl Beach Inn and cannot say enough complimentary things!! The furnishings are first-class, the grounds are kept immaculate, and there is something for every kind of traveller. The wonderful staff of Fred, Cindy, Lindy and the housekeeping girls go above and beyond to make this a destination.......not just a place to sleep. We will for sure be back!!!!

Room Tip: While we spent the majority of our week in the Manor House, we ended our stay in #6. When travellin...

First, let me say that this Inn is located in a fantastic spot. We absolutely loved that it was on the quiet, quaint Manasota Key, and that we could both see and easily access the ocean. We did enjoy walking on the beach and having coffee each morning on the sitting area outside our room. For anyone that is a beach enthusiast and cares little about quality of service or value, this is the place for you. For anyone desiring to know what they could be getting into, read on.

I found this Inn online and was so excited to book a week for our Honeymoon. The price was a little steep for us, but we figured it was worth it to stay on the beach and the Inn looked really nice. We paid the deposit and were looking forward to a quiet, relaxing, accomodating stay.

When we arrived and met Fred in the office, he promptly charged us for the rest of our stay and then explained that our room (#3) was the only room that did not have a working key card. He told us that it would be $18,000 to fix the broken reader, so instead, he was giving us the one and only turn key to hold on to for the week. Leading us to our room, Fred opened the door and we were instantly disappointed. The room, though clean, was not up-scale or "renovated." If we wanted to open any of the three windows, Fred let us know that we would have to prop them open, perhaps with a beer can. One window even had large cracks in the glass. The blinds were warped and far enough away from the wall that we had to put a blanket over them to keep other guests from seeing inside. Before Fred left, he let us know where to find the laundry room, where they kept supplies such as toilet paper, paper towel, extra towels, etc, as they did not have maid service (news to us). He told us we could access the laundry room any time before or after business hours. He did not, however, provide us with the key card to access it. Fred also informed us that the Inn used a septic system that was rather finicky and that we would be wise to flush often, to avoid any issues.

When Fred left, we had a chance to look around the room more. The bathroom was in serious need of renovation. The toilet, sink, and shower were quite low. A larger vanity would have been helpful. Stuffing their hair dryer into the medicine cabinet every day quickly became a tedious task. When using the shower, regardless of the time of day or the length of time is was used, we were always running away from the water when it suddenly turned steaming hot or freezing cold. The walk-in closet was great, but I would have gladly traded it for enforced quiet hours.

Every morning, by 7am, other guests were out on the deck diagonal to our room. They spoke loudly, mostly because they needed to in order to be heard above the waves. It would have been nice, however, to have been able to sleep in past 7am at least once without being disturbed. There were no signs reminding guests to respect designated quiet hours. Every evening was quiet, except for our last night at the Pearl. A new group of guests checked in later in the evening and proceeded to meet and chat with each other on the deck. It wasn't a big deal at first, because there were only 2 people, but then the group grew to 6, and so did their noise. By 11:30pm, we'd had enough and called Fred to ask him to talk with them. He did not answer, so we left a message. The group kept getting rowdier, and with no answer from Fred, we called him again at 12:15am. He still did not answer and we left another message. Finally, because we needed to get some sleep before our flight out the next morning, my husband took on what should have been the role of the Pearl's staff, and let the group know that others were trying to sleep and that they needed to quiet down.

The next morning, Fred was not at the office, so we shared some of our concerns with Lindy, the assistant. She was kind and understanding and let us know that she would be sure to let Fred know what we had experienced. We never did hear from him, and can honestly say that we were not pleased about his lack of response to our needs.

Besides all of those things, we did enjoy our time on Manasota Key.

Room Tip: #3 has ocean views, but does not look straight out at the ocean, while #s 4 and 5 do. #3 has a kitch...
