This is a small owner operator establishment. We have been there for lunch and dinner many times and have never had a bad meal. In season the wait can be long, but the food and portion size is worth the wait. For something different try the rib eye sandwich with cheese mushrooms and onion, excellent!

This is a tough one. Half the meal was great the other half, not so much. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy but the ambiance is pleasant. We ordered chicken parmigiana on two different nights. Both night the chicken was tender and moist, fried just right. The sauce on the pasta was very good and portions are BIG. The pasta was another story. It was overcooked and mushy. How can this happen in an Italian restaurant? Your pasta is everything.
The second time we requested that out pasta be al dente. The response was, "All of our pasta is prepared ahead of time so I can not promise it will be al dente". An italian restaurant that can not do al dente? Shamefull.
I understand that some items need to be prepped ahead of time on busy nights. I understand that pasta is pre cooked and then immersed in hot water prior to service. So, why don't they just cut the cooking time on the "prepared ahead of time pasta" by a minute or so and there you have it, al dente. Better yet, if you are a truly great Italian restaurant, cook to order. If really large operations like Buca de Beppo and Mama Leones in Manhattan can serve their pasta al dente, it's not rocket surgery or brain science, it's pasta.
P.S. Stop by the Italian kitchen and say buenos dias to the chef.

Started taking my family to Mama's a number of years ago. Now my children are taking their kids! This is not a "fancy" place--it is come-as-you-are. Menu is full of great selections.

Our server was really great. Our last visit we has a total of 14 in our party!!! Nine adults were able to sit at one table and the five kids at another table next to us. Our waitress served pizza slices from our table to theirs!! In my book that rates four stars!

Speaking of pizza, Mama's pizza is as good as pizza gets!

Mama's food has been great over the years, and is still over-the-top.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
