“One of the better places to stay in everglades City”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

We went down there last weekend for the seafood festival. We enjoyed the food and the attractions. Great stone crab claws! Some of our friends came into town from the east coast and we met up with them at the festival. They were planning on staying the night and had booked a room at the Everglades City Motel. They enjoyed their stay at the motel. Nicely accommodated rooms, very nice bathrooms. The hotel staff said they had renovated a few years ago. We walked from the hotel to the festival so it was convenient. Staff was friendly and went out of their so they had an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: End units so only have one set of neighbors.

I chose Everglades City Motel on the basis of TripAdvisor comments, and it was just what I wanted. At a decent price the two of us were in a room with space, kitchenette, and modern bathroom features. Better than that, we were walking distance from a good museum, restaurants, and historical buildings. Even better, the NPS Visitor Center down the road has boat rides deep into the 10,000 islands area, and short drives took us to areas with wild marine & land flora, fauna, & birds. Debbie at the desk was cheerfully provided lots of help and advice.

Its a motel - however they have recently upgraded the rooms so they look and are equipped like a decent standard hotel. Being a Motel the walls are paper thin so if you have noisy neighbours you would suffer. We had a great nights sleep there. Evening meal was good at the camellia street diner. Breakfast at City Seafoods the following morning was first class. Owners are helpful and we got a discounted tour with Captain Dougs airboats.

Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean and modern with a fair amount of counter space.. We had two queen beds and the room was spacious. The bathroom did not have any hooks or towel bars which would be very handy. The beds were too soft for us. Also there is no swimming pool. Our room had a microwave and a refrigerator.

Yes this place is clean and well located. Only drawback is that it is noisy in the morning starting around 730 am. The other drawback is that they don't have shades over the bathroom or desk area windows. The window are frosted but if your neighbor, like ours did decides to turn their outdoor light on it is just next to the desk window and shines in all night.

Small town motel, good and big beds, great new design bathroom. Nice and helpful lady at the frontdesk. Really good information about restaurants in town and things to be done in the area.

Stayed here on a trip from West to East coast with an extra day on our agenda. The Everglades City Motel was the first place we saw driving into the town and decided to stop. Woman behind desk was very pleasant and helpful with suggestions and map showing places to eat, etc. We took the room offered us - a little high, we though, for the area, but didn't want to drive around checking out the competition. Our room was small, too small for a king size bed. Hardly a spare foot of walking space between end of our comfortable bed and TV console. It was almost like an afterthought - queen headboard on king bed, curtains showing lots of wear. However, bathroom was nice and modern but looked like a work in progress since there were no towel bars - had to leave them on the floor - and no shower curtain.Sheets and towels were all quality and clean. I will say the other rooms I could see through the windows when walking around to check them out, were all more spacious and better arranged. So, we would recommend but ask to see the room first.

Room Tip: Look at room first or avoid corner room #18 for sure.
