We had a great time with another couple and the guides in our Mangrove Tunnel kayaking tour! The weather was just perfect, sunny but not too hot, and the kayak was really stable and comfortable (it was our first kayak trip). The trip actually happened to be longer than planned so we really got a good value for our money. Our guide Ron knew so much about the nature, and told us fascinating details about animals and plants we encountered. He even got out of his kayak to pushed our kayaks into this great hidden place between trees and bushes and showed us many species. We saw big alligators very near of us, one of them keeped following our kayaks for a while, but they were really lazy and not interested in people. Got some GREAT pictures! The peace and silentness was so relaxing and I'm so happy we took this trip instead of those noisy boat rides! Mangrove tunnels which we reached at the end of our tour, were just amazing. It was so exciting to canoe in the tunnels - pretty hard work from time to time as well. And pretty long part of the tour was canoeing in the water with a lots of plants, which was not the easiest thing to do. It takes a bit muscular strength, but don't worry, an average person will cope just fine. When you take this trip, take something to drink and some easy snacks to eat with you, as well as some sunscreen and maybe a hat :) Thank you again for everything Ron! :)

Ron is wonderful. Few understand the true "sound of silence" until they actually experience it. Thankfully, the emergent plants on now under control and the paddling is much easier.

A super experience! This company provides almost any kind of exploration of the Eveglades that you could imagine: kayak, boat assisted kayak, birding, photography, bicycling, plane tours, guided hikes, etc. We took the 3+ hr boat assisted kayak tour. Every outing is different depending on weather, tides, where the wildlife might be, etc. If you are a weekend warrior, I strongly suggest the boat assiasted kayak as a good option. The boat gets you out into the 10,000 islands of the Everglades NP, and then you kayak for an hour or more out in the islands...seeing the mangroves and the animals up close. Be aware that season (rainy or dry) will affect what you see. We were there during the dry season, so most of the birds are where the pools are drying up and concentrating the fish/food..meaning in our case elsewhere. Still we saw several active osprey nests, anhingas, cormorants, egrets, great blue heron, tricolored herons, etc. Had fun with a dolphin chasing us on the way back too. Kayaking in the mangorves is an amazing experience...makes you feel as if you are the only people in the world. Our guide Garrick was extremely knowledgeable and deltighful. Do it!

We had a nice 2 hour tour with Capt Garrick (who was excellent) of the 10000 islands. We saw osprey, pelicans, etc. but nothing special. The boat was good but the middle of the day was probably not the best trip. Go on the 4 o'clock for more wildlife.

The birding, wildlife & photo expedition was a fantastic tour. We must say that we were overwhelmed with all the expertise knowledge our guide Bruce shared with us. A great guide! We had a more luxury trip than expected when it was only the two of us booked on the trip (instead of six) which of course led to more time for us to ask questions and to get attention from Bruce, but even with a full boat I’m sure we would have got a great trip. After the trip we knew so many things we didn’t know of before, like the sex life of shells ;-). We also got the knowledge of how the mangroves function, name of birds and how they behave. Really, this was one of the high lights of our two weeks in Florida.

My wife and I took the 1:30 pm tour on 16-Jan-2013.

First of all, my only con for this trip is the price and that is why I have given it 4 out of 5 and not 5 - I feel it is a little on the expensive side. Apart from that, we really enjoyed ourselves! Garrick was our captain and guide. He was very knowledgeable and knew all the best places to call at to see different bird species and marine animals. The highlight of the trip had to be when three wild dolphins decided to play in the wake of the boat - it was all down to them, no fish were being offered to perform tricks as with captive dolphins... incredible!!

I would definitely recommend this trip to nature lovers. I have seen another review here where they complain about the numbers of birds on show. You cannot guarantee the presence of wild animals and the time of the day you visit also plays a significant role. Low tide in the mangroves is the best time to see many more shore birds feeding, so you should take this into account when you book up.
