We stayed here for two nights while vacationing in the Everglades. The location, pool, screened in porch, and price were great. The room was very basic--two beds, linens, towels, soap, t.v. and a fridge, that's it. There was no shampoo in the room nor at the front desk so we spent $5 (ouch) on a bottle of shampoo at the local grocery store. We left the shampoo at the front desk because we couldn't take it on the plane home.

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed very basic and equal.

I'm not sure why I chose this hotel; maybe everything else was booked. It served our needs but was more expensive than it was worth. We had a large, spacious room with two double beds, which were fine. There was a screened in porch, but no light on it, so we could not use it in the evening when we were in the room - so I think that's odd. We did sit on it and have coffee once in the morning, but there was not breakfast with the hotel. If you bring your own food, that might be nice; there is a fridge in the room, but no microwave, no coffee maker. The air conditioner was too noisy to use, except on fan; we opened the door a crack but put a towel on the floor by the screen porch door to prevent insects from coming through the very large gap between floor and door. I probably would not stay here again, as I think there are better values in Everglades City, but I would not avoid it if better places were not available. It was clean, roomy, and adequate - just over priced.

Room Tip: The best thing about our room was the screened porch, though it doesn't offer a view and has no lighting in the evening when you're most likely to want to use it.

We spent one night here, the room was basic but clean and comfortable with mosquito screens on the windows. The pool was warm enough to swim in although it was January . No breakfast offered but places to eat within walking distance,a convenient stop for airboat trips.

The Everglades can be cool in the winter months, particularly at night. The night I stayed here it got to the mid 50 s. That was when I found there was no heat. The AC had a heat mode, but it did not work. Also no breakfast and wifi in the lobby only. All this for $115. Not a bargain!

There are not many options in Everglades City. We were set on this route for our Everglades adventure. The hotel is older, and dated, but our room was clean. Beds are not too comfortable. There is a late check in fee, and if you arrive late (we arrived a little before midnight), you will wait on the front desk person to drive over and check you in. A little inconvenient, but not bad.

Otherwise, it fit our needs for the night.
