We made sure we had time before our airboat ride to have lunch and Speedy's recommended Triad. We were not disappointed. The food is fresh and the service is commendable. Also, it's right on the water so you get a great view of the airboats passing by as well as the occasional dolphin visit. Not to be missed.

Very surprised this "restaurant" is not on TA....been in business over 30 years. Anyway we were recommended to this place by a gal at the airboat ride. She lives in Everglades city and said this was the best spot to eat. Everglades is the center for stone crab harvesting and there are numerous restaurants there. Triad is more like a collection of shacks along the wharf surrounded by traps and boats. You eat outside facing the water on counters or at tables on a screened in porch. The owner and his wife are milling around to help. It started as a little take out place for crabs and now they are open from Oct to May during crab season. I ordered the large one which were very fresh and delicious. We also had fried grouper basket and clam strips....everyone enjoyed and well worth going to if you are in the area.

Just what we wanted for lunch--casual, fresh seafood in waterside screened restaurant -- like eating outside. This is not a fancy place so you can wear shorts of swim suit with coverup. Just good local food. We tried grilled grouper, reasonably price fresh stone crabs, and sides including slaw, fries, and hush puppies. Also my husband loved the key lime pie--very tart. Cold beer and attentive service. We even saw a manatee just outside the screened dining area in the river/canal. Also several osprey in a nest across the river. Cool place for a casual and relaxed meal.

Come in to Everglades City and take the first right after the post office.Follow all the way down behind the school. X marks the spot X . Triad Seafood and Fish Market. Sits in an out of the way area, but don't be dismayed my fellow foodie treasure hunters. Go through the passageway past the fish market to the rear to discover a sign saying," Seat yourself " Your choices will be open air or covered screened dinning overlooking the waterway. Our waitress Debbie was very warm and friendly and quickly brought us menus and took our drink orders and delivered some really cold beers. The blackened grouper was the best of our trip and served with crunchy coleslaw, homemade tatar sauce with fresh dill, and sweetpotato fries.Desert was keylime pie ,made onsite,yellow-greenish color, but oh so good. Flakey crust. The real deal. Can't wait to go back and try more offerings. Please post if you try something besides the blackened grouper.I'll be waiting to read your reviews.Happy treasure hunting. My husband Marshall almost gave up trying to find this place-But don't you. It's well worth the effort.I promise.
