We had a great 2 day stay at the quaint old style Ivey House. The room we had was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. All the staff were very helpful suggesting activities in Everglades City. We would stay there again.

We spent three days in Everglades City at the Ivey house mid March. We had come from 16 degrees and snow to 80 degrees and sun. What a pleasant experience. We signed up for a kayak excursion and our guide Tom was excellent. This is such a beautiful area.

The accommodations were excellent. The room was quiet and clean. The only thing the Ivey house could improve upon was their breakfast. Don't get me wrong. There was nothing wrong with it but it seemed very basic.

Wife and I first time travelers to South Florida. Needed to see Florida as it was before it became the retiree mecca that it is now. Here it is! The city is for locals and not much to see. Do air-boat yes but the reason to be here is the everglades kayak tours. You will get wet and muddy but if you want a great 'base-camp" and tour of the everglades this is it! You will find easy to meet soul-mates and excellent food nearby. West Entrance to Everglades National Park here as well to expand your kayak adventure.

Room Tip: Stay in the main lodge and not the annex.

This was my second time staying at the Ivey House. It is an excellent place to stay for anyone wanting to explore the everglades. Its location between Naples and Miami make it a perfect base to go to the various parks, adventures and attractions.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They can direct you to what ever you are looking for, be it kayaking, nature walks or drives, places to go birding, places to dine, etc. Even if you are just looking for a place to relax and unwind the Ivey House is an excellent choice. Screened indoor pool with waterfalls and plants for your enjoyment.

I would like to give a 5 rating but there were a couple of minor issues. I'd go 4and a half if that was an option. The advertised Wi-Fi service was nonexistent. I even moved to a location next to a transmitter and had very spotty service. The rooms all have tile floors to be easier to clean since sand is everywhere. Unfortunately housekeeping never vacuumed or swept them during our stay. Everything else was exceptionally clean and the property is well maintained

They offer a great buffet breakfast each morning that is included with the room. Lots of variety and dining room very clean. Coffee and tea were available round the clock.

The Ivey House is very eco friendly, recycling as much as possible and uses energy saving materials. An all around great place to stay.

We spent one night here as a base for an everglades tour. Our room was in the lodge ( hostel style with shared bathroom) which was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were also clean with good showers. Breakfast was included which was good quality. The staff are helpful and friendly. We also did the morning kayak tour with Troy which was very pleasant- lots of bird life and alligators to be seen. Also a few good restaurants near by on the water. We would recommend this place.

We stayed in a two queen bed room for two nights. The room was spacious and plenty of places to put away and hang clothes. Bedding was fine. Beds firm but comfortable. Bathroom quite small and towels were not the best quality. Sitting poolside in the afternoon was very relaxing. Breakfast was self serve buffet style. Eggs and meat....pretty typical hotel style. Nice oatmeal, plenty of breads and cold cereal to choose. Some yogurt and fruit. Nothing very special about it, but a good selection that will get you off to a good morning start. It looked about the nicest place in a VERY little town so I guess we got what we paid for. OK place to stay. Everglades National Park. Check that off my bucket list!

Room Tip: If you are looking to see the National Park, this is a good place to stay.
