Paradise on the beach. Actually, you have to walk about 20 yards from the back entrance to the beach. Olivia, the manager, went above and beyond, as did her whole staff, to make our vacation enjoyable. Rooms were very clean. We had a microwave, full size frig/freezer, small stove, direct access to the pool from the room. The place is pet friendly, as our Golden Retriever was part of the trip. They have a large clean grassed park adjacent to the property. Ideal for our pet, but with playground sets, it would be great for children also. Beach was beautiful and not over crowded. Sandy Bottoms Bar and Grill on beach had great food and drinks. But it was Olivia and her staff that made the trip a pleasure. My one son has back issues, so the staff got us an extra mattress to give him more support. Breakfast is free and a cook makes your eggs, pancakes, and sausage to order the way you want them. We had 2 different cooks during our stay and both were excellent and like all the staff, they were friendly and eager to please. They have a beverage and snack area that is stocked with beverages, snacks, frozen sandwiches and much more. It is available 24/7 for a nominal fee, so no need to waste time and energy running to a grocery store or corner store. This was a great benefit during our stay. The pool, though small, had very clear water and was kept clean, as was the entire pool area. They offer soft pool towels at the front desk. Thanks Brenda for lending me your glasses so I could check in. Been years since I felt so continuously welcome and valued by an entire staff of any hotel. Thanks Seaside Amelia Inn staff for all you did to make us feel welcome. By the way, do not miss out on the roof top view. We had breakfast up there every morning.

Room Tip: Higher floors are sure to give the best ocean views.

Wonderful stay at the Amelia Inn. The service from the manager was exceptional! All staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic location right on the oceanfront just steps from a lovely beach! So relaxing. Light and bright, spacious, clean room with lovely view (worth getting an ocean view room). Toiletries provided. Breakfast was great - coffee, tea, juices, cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt as well as cooked items - pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage all cookee fresh to order. The cook was fantastic - such a nice guy! Nice little swimming pool, very refreshing. The sea water was not the clearest for swimming although many people did swim. The beach was beautiful. Great beach bar called Sandy Bottoms right next to the hotel - great food and drinks, happy hour 2-6pm with $2 beers!

Beautiful all around. Very pleased. The property was beatiful, clean, and an extremely friendly staff. I love the beach and spend most of my time outside of the room so this fit the order. I had a Pool View (you could see the ocean but it was partially obstructed by the Bar/Grill but I wasn't expecting to have any ocean view so that was a Plus), and it was a lovely view. I would return and recommend this property for beach lovers like myself that want a wonderful place to come to sleep and eat. They have free breakfast and Pete (prepares you pretty much whatever you want and enjoys doing so)! Relaxed on the beach all day, Enjoyed Sandy Bottoms Bar and Grill for dinner (right out the front door) and then shower and fell into bed. It is a straight shot to the Harbor and wonderful restaraunts and shopping. Great location and choice for this type of trip. Thumbs up!

Room Tip: Just a note, there are no Umbrella or chair rentals for the beach here. Bring your own or make a qu...

I live in the DMV and wanted to get away from it all. This island allowed me to do just that. It was quite, the hotel staff was so friendly and I thought highly of the GM. I Love that the beach is steps away, the hotel has beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. Since customer service is few and far between, I thank you Seaside for making me feel welcomed.

We have stayed at this property twice, now. Both times have been almost perfect. The rooms are nicely decorated, quiet and a comfortable fit. The last stay we had a ocean view room with a balcony. Granted, the balconies are small but they are just right for nice cup of coffee and a great view of the sunrise.

Really nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. The free breakfast is actually good, and not slop that sits in warming trays for a few hours. Rooms are quite small in comparison to many hotels but we never felt cramped. Having the extra "living room" was really nice. Location can't be beat - right on the beach, restaurant next door, couple of miles from Fort Clinch, couple of miles from historic downtown. The only downside was the parking - most of it is covered, which would normally be great but we had bikes in the bed of our large pickup. So parking options for us were very limited.
Also, if you're big on your gadgets (phone, tablet, etc.) you should be aware that this close to the beach there is little to no phone or data service (and I have Verizon, which would have service on the surface of the moon I think). And the wifi in the hotel is not good. It actually led to me having an enjoyable, tech-free vacation.
