Our first experience at a B & B could not have been better. The inside and out is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. Everytime I walked through the front door I enjoyed the wonderful aroma of fresh baked goods and coffee! The courtyard is beautiful and breakfast on the veranda is the best! Shannon, Bob and Lee are the most hospitable innkeepers. We got married in the courtyard and Bob was kind enough to let our dog, Oki, participate in the ceremony (although he wasn't allowed in the inn). I really didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back.

This Bed & Breakfast is the best place we ever stayed at! It is situated in a perfect location on the beautiful Amelia Island. The historic old town with many excellent restaurants and cute little shops is all in walking distance right around the corner. The building and the rooms are historic as well and everything is clean and in perfect condition. Our hosts Bob and Shannon have a great way to welcome you and make you feel perfectly comfortable any time. We never experience such a great personal care before. This makes the B&B more unique than it would be anyway.
We decided spontaneously to spend a weekend here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. For such occasions I can really recommend the special arrangement they offer (and due to the last-minute booking we even got another special: The "I need a Break RIGHT NOW!" Special, which reduced the price for the second night by 50%).
Anyway this place is worth the money it costs! I am not sure how an average breakfast in such places looks like, but here it was simply great: fresh, home-made and you could taste the dedication they put into every small detail. We had our breakfast outside on the terrace with view on the beautiful courtyard garden. Unfortunately we missed the happy hours because we came in very late each day, but there were always some delicious home-made cookies to grab on the way to bed. It is a pity we could not stay longer in this extraordinary, wonderful place.

My husband and I just returned from Amelia Island, Fl where we stayed at The Addison on Amelia Island. The place is just so beautiful and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious! What can I say about Bob and Shannon, but thank you for making our stay a memorable one. We felt so welcome. The rooms were spotless and everyone was very helpful with advice on the best places to eat, even making the reservations for you. Bob and Shannon also gave us breakfast at 5:30 a.m. because we had to leave for the airport early! I was deeply touched by their thoughtfulness. I hope to return sometime in the future.

We only stay in B & B's and small inns when we travel so we've had a chance to do a lot of comparison. I must say that our stay at the Addison was among the best! Bob, Shannon and Lee made us feel so welcome. A great deal of thought had gone into our room with all things we could have possibly needed. The breakfasts were amazing!!! and we loved the Happy Hours which gave us another chance to visit with the other guests. Prior to our arrival directions from the airport and a list of restaurants were sent to us which was most helpful. Obviously we loved our time there! We were there the 1st week in Oct. and the weather was beautiful.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room overlooking the beautiful courtyard and had a balcony

The Addison is a fantastic experience - even for the most seasoned traveler! We have stayed there twice in the past 4 months and even got some friends to join us there this weekend. Not even a rainy weekend could put a damper on our stay there. Happy Hour includes a great appetizer and a choice of beverages but the conversation with innkeeper Bob and fellow guests keep you coming back each afternoon. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfast is fantastic. Shannon's cookies are "the icing on the cake"! We highly recommend the Addison for the discriminating traveler!

We arrived at the Addison for a weekend at the end of September. We were warmly greeted on the beautiful front porch by Lee. The facilities were immaculate. When giving our name we were informed the room we had reserved was not available due to repairs and we would receive an upgrade to their best room. Upon entering the room we were impressed with the decor, ammenities, gurnishings and huge private balcony. After getting settled we atttended a wonderful happy hour on the patio with our hosts Bob and Shannon and other guests. The drinks and food were spectacular as was the conversation. The patio was beaufifully landscaped also. We informed Shannon we would miss their breakfast the next morning as we were going on a fishing trip with Jeff Crumpton (Amelia Island Charters) early. To our delight and surprise as we were leaving the next day Bob greeted us with a cooler packed with fresh muffins (extra for the captain to enjoy), awesome quiche, water, and even plates and silverware! We caught a lot of redfish (another review) and returned with fresh fish for our hosts and for us to take to a restaurant. They recommmended Espana to cook our fish and made our reservations. We atttended happy hour that evening with more delightful food, drink, and company. Then Bob announced our chariot awaited as we had reserved a carriage ride through the historic district (highly recommended). Bob escorted us and also provided carrots for us to feed the horse with. The tour was very enjoyable and informative. At the end we were delivered to Espana Restaurant for our fish dinner. The food and service was excellent! The next day we enjoyed another awesome breakfast of french toast, fresh fruit and yogurt. We walked on the beautiful beach, toured Fort Clinch and strolled downtown. Our most favorite memories...the congeniality and graciousness of our host and hostesses, smelling breakfast cooking at 6 am, drinking coffee on our balcony, frest cookies in the afternoon, walking most places, and of course, happy hour. We do travel quite a bit and we were impressed with our hosts desire to make your stay the best possible and the gorgeous home and surrounding area.

My husband and I just got back from a three-night stay at the Addison for our anniversary/pre-baby trip. It was the perfect quick getaway and I'm convinced that it wouldn't have been the same if we had stayed anywhere else.

We were greeted by Lee and given a quick tour, then shown to our room, which was wonderful - very nice and simply decorated. Several small touches made it particularly nice, and I was happy to see their emphasis on being eco-friendly. Super comfy bed and sheets, too.

Bob was a great host and willingly gave plenty of suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc. The location of the Addison is wonderful - an easy walk to restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Bob, Shannon and Lee did a great job of being friendly and helpful without being "in your face" or intrusive, a balance that isn't always easy to find in a bed and breakfast.

The breakfast was AMAZING and filling enough to almost count for lunch, too, and happy hour was always fun.

I would absolutely recommend the Addison and will certainly be back if we return to Amelia Island!

Room Tip: We stayed in room #1 in the main house & loved it.
