“Great service, quiet, excellent value....”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

SIx night stay over spring break, but we had very quiet rooms away from elevator, and no issues with pets. Serivce was attentive, suites are large, breakfast better than most, no problem with internet in the rooms. Very clean. Two block walk to beach was easy and safe. Jason was very helpful at front desk. Staff seemed to keep up with multiple requests despite being sold out for spring break week.

Very good restaurants in town of Fernandina Beach. Fun morning horseback ride on beach at Kelly's Ranch. Easy, flat bke ride to Fort Clinch.

Pool area is small, but the beach weather was lovely and we spent most of our time there reading and relaxing.

The general manager kept reminding me that he wasn't the boss, we were....

Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was very clean, had everything we needed, inclduing internet, kitchen with microwave and sink, etc. The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful with directions, etc. It was a vacation week and there were families there with young children. We enjoyed watching them at the pool and on Wed. night when the hotel hosted a free barbecue. The hotel is located just 2 blocks from the beach and from Sliders Seaside Grille which was a great place to end the day.

Room Tip: The hotel is family and pet friendly. If you want quiet ask for 3rd floor away from elevator.

My friend and I shared a suite here for a Road's Scholar week. It was a clean, large suite with 2 queen beds and a nice den/kitchen area. The lobby, pool and eating areas were pleasant and clean. The hotel is not on the beach, but it is an easy 5-minute walk. there is also a nature trail right behind the hotel--we didn't take it but others did and seemed to enjoy it. Our food was catered in, so don't know about that. We saw several canine guests, but they all seemed well-behaved and we heard no barking. There is a Walgreens a block or two away, and other shopping a bit further. Nice place.

We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel based on the great reviews. However, from the time we awoke in the morning until the time we went to sleep at night there was nonstop barking from the dogs of other hotel guests. I really do not know how dog can bark consistently over several hours without shredding their vocal cords into bits, but somehow it is possible. There was one high pitched main offender, and several other dogs that would join in from time to time.
We spent as much time out of the hotel as possible, but morning and evenings were awful.
We checked out earlier than originally intended.
I am sure their 'pet friendly' policy works out well for people who want to save money on kenneling their pets, but I am going to avoid this hotel in the future.

This is our 4th visit to the Island and our 3rd stay at the Residence Inn. The stay as always was great-great friendly staff and wonderful help from the Assistant Manager Miguel with an annoying problem that he quickly and professinally handled. Would still like to see extra stand alone umbrellas as it can and was very hot some days and also put around the fire pit area of course the front porch with rocking chairs offers nice cool shade. Glad they got a new barbeque as lots of people enjoy cooking their own meals. We liked the one evening of food for a resonable priced barbequed by staff prior to Easter. Of course the free breakfasts and free barbeque nights are always appreciated. No kids at home now but I am sure the little ones liked the easter egg hunt. Great WIFI in the rooms. Downtown Fernandina has some great shops and restaurants-make a shopping trip to the Red Otter on Atlantic Ave just before the Episcopal Church. Lovely farmers's market every Sat. Drove to Orlando and took in a Detroit Tigers ball game. Thanks to the Residence Inn once again

Room Tip: If you stay for a longer period the room rates are cheaper we get a 2 bedroom and after 12 days ther...

When you travel and stay in hotels as much as I do (weekly) you appreciate when an employee of a property does and excellent job representing Residence Inn on Amelia Island.
Natalie is responsible for keeping the kitchen/breakfast room clean and stocked...some say that's easy but in this particular hotel a majority of the guests are KIDS as its a popular place for vacations. So for those that have kids you can imagine how quickly this area could have gotten out of control. She was a pro....she kept the area clean, the food stocked and did it with professionalism and humor. The parents were relieved and the kids happy they could try just about anything.....
Thank you Residence Inn for allowing Natalie to please your guests in a sincere and genuine way.
