“Nice Hotel, be aware pets are allowed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

Very nice hotel, great location. Only 2 blocks from the beach. Local beaches are great. Very family friendly, not over commercialized which is nice. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Complementary breakfast and the dinner they serve a couple of times a week was great. We only had one small issue. Beware this hotel allows pets. We were there with our small dog which is a allergy friendly dog since one of our kids Suffers from pet allergies. We felt the $100 cleaning fee they charged for pets was excessive based on the average cleaning job the room had. We were there 30 mins and his allergies were acting up. A very clean room ($100 cleaning fee every time a pet is in the room) should help keep it down. Please understand the rooms were clean. I would think if you pay $100 they should steam clean the carpets. They were not. We purchased some febreeze allergy reducer which helped. Good news was the weather was great so we spent most of the time out of the room and at the beach or pool. If we didn't bring our dog to Amelia Island next time we would look for a non-pet hotel.

A very nice hotel in a good location. But maybe because it is summer season, the hotel seemed a nursery playground place when we where there some days ago. If your plans are going to the beach and have a swimming pool available, this is the hotel to stay. But if not, maybe this is not the hotel for you. Rooms are very nice and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room.

Thank you for taking a moment to review our hotel! I'm glad to see that you enjoyed the property and its location. Summers are our peak season and we enjoy accommodating a wide variety of guests, including many families on vacation. However, we also appreciate our guests who are looking for more of a quiet getaway. For your next visit to Amelia, we would love to accommodate you again - you might consider reserving one of our One Bedroom Deluxes, which are large corner rooms which are typically very quiet. I would also agree with your Room Tip of requesting a top floor room for a quieter stay. There are also some lesser known ways to get in your quiet time on the property - I recommend enjoying your breakfast out on our Tides Terrace for instance, or even on our front porch in our comfortable rocking chairs. Additionally, if you prefer dining indoors, we have an area far from the main dining cafe which feature secluded tables and chairs, plus extra space behind our lobby fireplace which might offer a break from the morning hustle.

Thank you so much for staying with us. If you find yourself in Amelia again in the future (and I hope you do!) we'd love the opportunity to earn those other two stars.

Safe travels,
Bob Hartman

A pleasant surprise was experienced at this beautiful hotel. Immaculate facilities, friendly and professional staff, great location, lovely pool area, modern, comfortable and spacious rooms. Can't think of a negative thing to say about this place. The evening we arrived there was a complementary make-your-own nachos get-together with free wine, beer for adults and lemonade for the kids. The included breakfast was superb and offered eggs, cereals, grits, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurts, and more in a clean and refreshing setting. What a refreshing stay aided by the great staff who were there for you every step of the way. We will definitely be back.

Very nice Marriott property located about 5 minutes (walking) to the beach! Spacious rooms with a small, but full kitchen. That was a plus. Nice to be able to make sandwiches & take them to the beach .Amelia Island is a little pricey, The staff were very friendly & helpful. They greeted you every time you came in. Good manager's reception Monday evening. Hotel was packed, lots of families with kids. Get to breakfast early, it gets so crowded & a bit chaotic!

My family went to Amelia last weekend for a family reunion. The studio room was plenty big enough for my 13 and 15-year olds, plus my husband and myself. We blew up an air mattress for the floor. The staff went over and above with friendliness and helpfulness at every turn. When our reunion location was rained out - they offered a conference room (free of charge due to the poor weather). Although we found another location - I thought that was very generous. We also brought our little poodle with us, and she was welcomed and adored. (Although it did cost us an extra $100 which I think is a bit much). Since it rained all day Saturday, they gave us a late checkout to have a little beach time - which was only a couple of blocks away. Loved this hotel!

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights last summer. It was my first time staying at a Residence Inn and this property gave a very favorable impression. For starters, the property is pristine throughout--both the common areas and the individual rooms. We stayed in a King efficiency suite. It was spacious, had a well stocked kitchen area, and comfortable bedding.

The property is about as convenient to the beach as you can get without being Beachfront. You literally turn left out of the parking lot and walk straight for 5 minutes to get to the ocean. I got up early each morning for walks along the beach and was always there in 5 minutes or less.

We had initially booked 3 nights, and when I went to inquire about the possibility of extending our stay, I was made aware that they were having a special: Stay 3 nights and get the 4th night free. With this unexpected cost savings we were able to extend from 3 nights to 5.

The business district of Amelia Island with stores, theater, chain restaurants, etc are only a 5-10 minute drive from the hotel.

The hotel has a front porch with big rocking chairs on it. My husband and I enjoyed sitting in the rockers in the evening and enjoying the breeze coming in from the ocean.

The daily breakfast buffet, was changed each day we were there. The area was very clean, and there was a good variety of food selections. They had 1-2 staff members in the area who would assist in any way needed (i.e. making your waffle for you).

Overall, I loved everything about this hotel. The staff, the service, the property, convenience to the ocean, peaceful atmosphere. It's not a luxury hotel, but is has the feel of one.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice clean hotel. From the time I checked in until the time I left I was pleased. The front desk personnel were very accommodating. The manager's hospitality night was great. There was nothing negative that I experienced. I would no doubt stay there again.
