Our week at the Residence Inn Amelia Island was as wonderful as all the reviews we studied prior to booking. We were transported to this magical place with a comfy but oh-so conveniently laid out room that begged for an even longer stay. I secretly flirted with the idea of making it my permanent residence, I loved it so much. The friendly, helpful staff far exceeded our expectations and made sure we felt welcome throughout our stay. The daily breakfasts and thrice weekly Manager's receptions were surprisingly good. A shorter than expected walk to the beach was wonderfully convenient. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely make an effort to stay here again. By the way, we live on the west coast!!!

The service was impecable! Check in was seemless and even got to check in a little early...they were very prepared for us. We stayed in a studio with a king size bed. The room was very inviting and clean--a great place to relax. The living room/kitchen very comfortable. Loved the large flat screen rotating TV that made is easy to view from the bed after a day of visiting sites and the beach. The hotel was extremely clean with a comfortable commons area and impressive veranda by the pool-very nice to be able to sit there and enjoy breakfast or evening relaxation. Breakfast was amazing. I was so shocked at the large variety and the employees replenishing everything didn't allow anyone to go without an opportunity to try anything to eat. It's definitely no average breakfast. The servers were very friendly too and that made it even that much more enjoyable. The store with snacks, quick meals, drinks, medicines, etc. was such a surprise and very nice touch. We were so impressed we are already planning another even longer stay this coming spring. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach-no need to drive your car down to enjoy it which was very pleasant. Residence Inn Amelia Island--you rock!

Another nice stay at the Residence Inn. We stayed there in February also. There was not many people at the hotel and they had cancelled their Monday night cookout but everything else was top notch.

If you are staying in the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach area and looking for a hotel, then look no further.

This property is in a great location, offers a reasonable price and excels at customer service. It may be a Residence Inn but I would rank the service world class and comparable to the Hilton Cavalieri in Rome.

From the moment you walk in the door, you are made to feel welcome and thanked for spending time with them. If you need suggestions or tips, the staff was friendly, mapped out directions and gave local feedback on best places to go.

I could go on and on about the special touches the entire staff took to make our experience enjoyable. I'll leave it with the fact that as a road warrior I've experienced service that ranges from excellent (this property) to standard (just goes through motions) to "how the heck does that person keep their job".

This property will always ranked as excellent on my list.

We just returned from a two night stay at Residence Inn Amelia Island in their two bedroom suite. I must admit some of the reviews mentioning dogs had me a bit worried. So, I called the hotel in advance requesting a room on a high floor away from the dogs. However, we saw only one dog our entire stay and never smelled dogs at all.

We called ahead for early check-in which we were promptly given. When we arrived at the hotel we were in awe of the beauty of it. This Residence Inn is quite modern and the grounds were spotless. The lobby and hallway floors were extremely clean as well. The check-in process was quite easy and we were up to our room in no time at all. Now, the hallways are freezing. So be mindful when you are coming to and from the beach. Still when we opened the door to our room, even my children were like, this is nice! We picked our bedrooms changed our clothes and started out for the beach. We never walked to the beach but it was close enough that a walk was definitely possible. Sadler Road (the street the hotel is located on) dead ends right at the beach. We parked at the beach parking at the Sadler Road round-about. We honestly didn't know what to expect about the town or the beach since we had never been before. The beach was white sand and completely beautiful. There were houses that line this beach instead of the condo's or high rise hotels. It made the beach seem more serene. There are plenty of birds in the sky and dolphins can be regularly seen as you swim in the ocean. We normally go to Myrtle Beach because there are so many other things to do there besides the beach. However, when we want to completely relax, Amelia Island will definitely be our destination. It rained one day and we decided to go to the shopping outlets in St. Augustine about an hour away. There honestly is not anything to do in the evenings on Amelia Island but Jacksonville is pretty close with plenty of malls and movie theatres.

The breakfasts at this hotel were really nice. The food seemed to be of nice quality and plenty of variety. I am on on Weight Watchers so I was definitely worried about the options. There was light yogurt, low-fat yogurt, granola and fresh fruit where one could easily make a parfait. They had hash browns and eggs as well (not the processed kind). I didn't have those items but my husband said the hashbrowns were really good. They also had toast, bagels, english muffins, cereal, danish, juices and really great coffee.

Our only complaint was one of cleanliness which can be a major thing is you are a neat freak like me. Our bathroom was not clean. There was hair on the floor and tub. There was also shampoo crusted onto the tub. The oven was down right filthy. I always bring clorox wipes to wipe down everything for my kids. So, ultimately we were fine but the cleanliness issue is a bit concerning. Finally, we never had housekeeping while we were there. When I told the front desk they sent up a houseman who brought fresh towels and took out the trash. Needless to say we had towels stacked high in both bathrooms before we left.

All in all though we would stay at this hotel and visit Amelia Island again. This time we just know what to expect!

These folks have a culture of service second to none. Amazing staff. Their management team should be proud. More amenities than the average family would ever need, friendly staff smiles and greets at every opportunity, perfect location. We will be back for a couples getaway or with the kid(s).

PS - Dru, thanks for the beach bags for the kids ;<)

We just got back from a week long stay at this hotel. We booked a two bedroom suite that had a king size bed in each room for my husband and two children. It was our first time to stay at a Residence Inn and we all loved it. The staff was very friendly and accessible, and the room was extremely clean when we arrived. There was a free breakfast. A couple of nights there was a very simple, free dinner called a "social" - but hey, it's free dinner! We made use of the free bikes, although if you want something to ride for a longer period of time, your best bet might be to rent a bike from one of the shops down the street. My husband said the fitness center was great. The kids liked the pool, although I found it to be rather small for the number of people who were using it. Most of the time we preferred walking to the beautiful beach - only about .25 miles away. Overall, it was a great place to stay. We will definitely be back!
