Great hotel for it's location and staff! Real old fashioned hospitality, great comfy beds, an included "full' breakfast experience and within walking distance to a ton of acitivities! Great French restaurant across the street and do yourself a favor a go to the Courtyard and listen and sing with John the piano player! Great place to stay on this fabulous island!

This is a typical Hampton Inn -- clean, with comfortable bedding, friendly staff. We booked a two-room suite overlooking the marina. Unfortunately, our room was right above the train tracks and freight trains rolled by at odd hours -- day and night -- blowing their loud whistles 8 times (4 times at each street crossing). If you stay here, opt for a room overlooking town!

I sincerely apologize for the train noise issue encountered during your stay. Our guests’ comfort and safety is my number one concern. Your review will assist in helping to minimize discomfort in the future. We are currently working with the City of Fernandina on minimizing the train noise. I do hope that the next time you are in the area you will consider staying at our property again.

Sincerely,

Great Location for bar/restaurant hopping!
The pool was nice and our room was large. I didn't care for the breakfast egg option. It was a weird little folded egg product with some sort of unmeltable 'cheese food product' inside.

We stay in Hampton Inns regularly when we travel. We find them routinely clean and comfortable and good value. The Inn at the waterfront in Fernandina Beach is a cut above. The location is wonderful, in the center of everything you want to do in Fernandina Beach. The staff was very helpful, recommending restaurants, several of which I have reviewed, and all were excellent. As usual, the rooms were clean and comfortable. I can't recommend the hotel any more highly. If your are planning a stay in Fernandina Beach, stay there!

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. I loved being able to walk to restaurants, shops, the water, etc. The parking is also great - I found a covered spot every night. The lobby is also surprisingly nice. The room was average - nice and clean but nothing special. It was on the first floor which I didn't think much off until the trains started running - LOUD. So get a room on a high floor. Also, our A/C unit sounded like someone parked a motorcycle in the room with the engine running.

Breakfast was your typical fare. The dining area was very nice, like being in a nice home with a nice kitchen. The coffee was meh. I didn't have much interaction with staff but everyone seemed friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with other travelers in regard to your recent stay. I am very glad you enjoyed all that our little city has to offer. Our engineering department has been informed of your comments and we are working hard to fix any A/C unit problems in the future. We look forward to welcoming you back when you are on Amelia Island again.

Very good location, next to the river. The room did not have view of river. Hotel was okay, nothing special except location. The nearby paper mill and train were noisy. The paper mill was doing some testing at night, making a lot noise. Did not try the breakfast.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we're so glad we were able to serve you. I'm sorry that we could not "wow" you this time and regret that the neighboring noise was a disruption. We're currently working with the city of Fernandina on options to limit the trains affect on our guests. I will be sharing your feedback with the city staff and would love to hear any additional suggestions you have that would make your next stay more enjoyable.

Kind regards,

Bob Ramshaw, General Manager

Absolutely loved the location - walking distance to great restaurants, attractions, shopping, etc. Get a room with the view of the waterfront if you can. Got a suite with a kitchenette, separate bedroom for a really reasonable price. Still here and wish we were staying longer.

Room Tip: Harbor front room has great view!
