Haven't always been a fan of Hampton Inns but I was very impressed with the location and amenities this hotel offered. A few steps brings you to the main street filled with quaint shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel's breakfast room is superb, huge glass windows overlooking the pool area and the waterfront, beautifully furnished, lots of tables and a great selection of breakfast foods. The staff was very friendly, rooms were spacious, and the hotel appeared in good condition. They do warn you that a train passes the hotel daily but it never interfered with our sleep or enjoyment of the area.

This Hampton Inn is below the standard for a mid-priced chain hotel. The location is great, being in the historic district and close to shopping, BUT parking is a definite problem as there are not enough spaces to accommodate the guests and off premise parking is no better. The rooms are tired and noisy as the conversations and "activities" of the neighbors are unfortunately easily heard. The free breakfast has a varied menu but the space was limited such that we could not find a place to sit. We encountered a two-night minimum on a holiday weekend when booking direct, and later found that Hotel.com and other online booking services did not have that minimum??!!

The Fernandina Hampton Inn has it all for a nice weekend getaway. The rooms are extremely quiet, well appointed, and very clean. Good complementary breakfast (eggs, waffles, oatmeal. yogurt, etc.) The hotel is located near the yacht basin and one block off main street. Great shopping and a variety of good restaurants.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here & even liked it more this time. My sister & brother-in-law were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary & the staff was very accommodating. My brother-in-law had a back problem & they supplied a wheelchair. The meeting room worked out well for our party. They were painting the building & a few of our relatives had a problem with the noise but the manager reduced the bill. It could not be in a better location. Be prepared for the train which does come through very early in the morning. Ear plugs might help if you are located on the waterside.

Perfect location on waterfront in old town. Friendly staff and convenient to great restaurants and art studios. East internet access and full breakfast. Plus there are weekday food tastings. Not sure what else to say. Why do I need 200 characters?
