“Cuban Food”

We enjoyed the tasty strong expresso and the plantains were excellent just like Miami restaurents. Small area but they have a place to seat outside which is nice.

“Disappointing!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

Overrated, under delivery. We tried to eat here 3 different times around the lunch hour, but never open. We decided to try one more time and they were open. Interior unimpressive and cuban pastries were minimal in quanity. We ate in courtyard, which was small and on a sidestreet. We had the Cuban sandwich, which was OK but not impressive. It appeared only greeter/waiter and cook working so service was slow.

Thanks for your review. Please know that we open for lunch six days a week (closed Tuesdays) so we aren’t sure how you came by for lunch 3 different times to find us closed. We kindly invite you to refer to our hours posted on our door, answering machine, website and Facebook page – whichever you may find most convenient. We are sorry you found our interior to be unimpressive – we are a small mom and pop coffee and sandwich shop. However, if you notice, you will find treasures of our Cuban heritage – including pictures of our family serving during the Bay of Pigs invasion and a collection of painstakingly collected rare Cuban currency, proudly on display. We also have a growing collection of local business listings on display throughout as we pride ourselves as a shop where locals regularly network. You are correct, the pastries during lunch hour are often minimal in quantity but please know this is because our pastries are breakfast items and often not offered for lunch. Again, many thanks for your review and we appreciate your feedback. We use any information to improve customers' experience. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Amelia Island! All the best!

“Great stuff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

Good atmosphere. The food is really tasty and they have this Cuban soda called Materva that reminded me of the old style cream sodas. We are here for a week and plan on lunch here at least a few more times. If only they were open for dinner...

“Ok lunch spot”

Cuban pressed sandwich was good. Lot's of ham and a slice of house slow roasted pork. Mustard and dill pickles made the cut. Order at the counter and eat in or on the small patio.
