As far as I know this is the only authentic BBQ restaurant on Fernandina-Amelia that serves woodfired BBQ (rather than oven baked or charcoal) - and it comes through in the taste. Pulled pork has a nice smoky flavor (although could use more smoke) and the taste will be pleasant to anyone. Strict North Carolina BBQ adherents will fault it for lack of spice/kick, Memphis folks will fault it for lack of tomato, Kansas City folks may want more rub flavor -- but everyone will enjoy it because it doesn't contain too much of anything. The sauce choices make up for everyone's taste preferences. The ribs were GREAT no matter your preference. Baked beans were delicious, white slaw was very tasty, and my wife loved the pimento cheese! Wait staff were pleasant and attentive, seating outside under covered awnings was very pleasant and clean.
