“There's nothing here”

Other than a nice serene walk along the river, this place is empty and a little bit sketchy. We saw someone getting arrested while we were there. I don't know why TripAdvisor includes this on its list of things to do in Fort Lauderdale.

“Ghost Town”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2014

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon here but it is obvious that the economy has hit this area in a bad way. As the reviewers have mentioned, so many closed business and "for lease" signs. It is a shame because watching the boats come through is a real treat. Pets are allowed and one of the funniest sights was a guy on roller blades walking a large pit bull. Or maybe the pit bull was walking him! I am not sure what the answer is as far as revitalizing the area but it does seem a shame to not utilize such a great resource. Plenty of paid parking nearby.

“Pleasant walk but then what?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

Niceish walk along the river - easy path, nice stroll, but nothing really to see. The kids enjoyed seeing the bridges open to let the boats through! There used to be a nice center with restaurants, bars, entertainment, but that's now totally done.

“riverwalk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013

Pretty and lots to look at....but many shops are closed, the sites to see are the water & yachts. We Were there in the winter months and enjoyed some of the blooming flowers along the walk way.
I would only recommend if you want to see water & yachts/boats

“Not really much there”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

The riverwalk area has definitely suffered from the economic times. There are a couple of restaurant/bars, and a few other random businesses, but there really is not much open at this time. Too bad, because it is a great location.
