Well, until closing anyway. This museum was a pleasant surprise! I've been to a lot of science museums with my 3 kids, and this one really captured them, more than I had anticipated. I think one key is that it's actually geared towards older children. My 10 year old son was completely engaged and could have stayed another hour. My 7 year old struggled more and probably wouldn't have done as well without her brother. It also had an engaging mix of exhibit types. Some were very educational and some more whiz-bang such as the new airboat simulator (which the younger one loved). Also quite a few live animal exhibits. This was a perfect way to spend a hot afternoon while we recovered from sunburn. :) It was half empty with convenient parking and the price was reasonable. Would have been nice if there were appropriate choices for imax shows in the afternoon but from 12pm on it was only full length PG-13 feature film not sure why.

This was a great place for kids that like to explore and learn. There were exhibits for little ones, adults and everyone in between. Our favorite was the sea otters. They were adorable and you could watch above and under water through the glass. There were KNEX building areas, an aviaton center, hands on exploration for kids, snakes, spiders, fish, sea creatures, etc. Definitely worth the price of admission for such a diverse experience.

Our daughter and family (with twin 4 year olds) lives a few blocks from this museum so we have annual passes. I visit from Houston several times a year, and The Museum of Discovery & Science is always one of the first places we visit. The museum has activity centers continually update the facility and have new exhibits regularly. It is very hands on and has a lovely young childrens section. My husband really enjoys the flight area where there are several actual aircraft simulators to operate. There is also an IMAX theater and gift shop in the building, with a Subway Subs in the center.
Tips: 1) It is good to go first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon, when the school busses are gone.
2) Like many museums, as this one is well used, sometimes some of the small childrens hands-on activities are out of order.
3) Signage could be better. No where do I find brochures or instructions to buy your tickets outside, to give them to someone at a desk on the inside. (I stood in the wrong line with small children and then had to leave to go to another line).
