We had planned on taking the watertaxi that we heard of on-line, but we (and several other potential customers,) got fed up waiting for the watertaxi that never came. They had someone charter the watertaxi that was supposed to pick us up at 10:45, and after waiting and waiting for the boat that never came, I called the phone number I had gotten for them on-line, and found out the boat was NOT coming. Imagine if we had been on the first watertaxi and had gotten off at a stop. We would have had no choice but to wait 1 1/2 hours for the next one. The entire group of people who had been waiting were so disgusted, we all bought tickets for the Riverfront Cruise instead, which had a kiosk near the watertaxi pick-up point. WE were all glad we did. The water taxi is a "bus" on water. You sit in your hard, fiberglass seat. The Riverfront Cruise was a large boat, with air-conditioning, indoor and outdoor seating, where you could get up and walk around if wanted. NOT so on the watertaxi. The trip was 1 1/2 hours and covered the same ground as the watertaxi. Although it did not make stops, we were glad we went this route instead. It was very comfortable, and it was interesting to hear all about the houses and boats we saw along the way. The watertaxi cost was $20 compared to $23 for this. WELL worth it. Why not ride in luxury instead of riding a bus?

We have done this cruise several times before but decided to do it again since we had friends from Venice who had not done it before. Unfortunately the normal boat used for this cruise was being repaired so they ended up using a MUCH larger vessel that really wasn't that well suited for sightseeing. The boat was mostly enclosed and way too high up to really see most things easily. The cruise itself seemed to be shorter than normal but we attributed that to the fact the ship was just too big to get into some places.
I think they should have told people about the size of the boat before they bought their tickets, especially since the boat was docked quite a ways down the river where it couldnt be seem from the ticket booth.

Their boat is the perfect size and design for cruising the intracoastal waterway. The staff was outstanding. The boat is approximately 60' long and is designed with lower and upper deck seating. Even the upper deck seating is covered for shade or rain. The ticket prices were very reasonable priced as was the limited food and beverage available while aboard. If you visit Fort Lauderdale, this attraction is something you must do. Prepare to be a little jealous as you view the yachts and mansions.

WARNING: If you use GPS for directions to Riverfront Cruises, you will probably be directed to the wrong side of the intracoastal. They are located in a waterfront shopping plaza and we parked in a parking deck (very inexpensive for Fort Lauderdale) near the Irish Pub which was very convenient.

I've lived in downtown Ft. Lauderdale for 9 years and I've taken this cruise countless times. I always take visiting family and friends and they always love it. And I enjoy taking the ride no matter how often! It's nice also that you can have wine or beer on board. Most recently I took my boyfriend on this cruise. He's from England and really enjoyed seeing the various waterways, homes, cruise ships, and views of Ft. Lauderdale from the water. I highly recommend this cruise!

Took the River front cruise during the morning, my wife and I were the only two customers for a boat that could hold 100. They said they normally need 10 people but because we booked and pre-paid via their web site they would take only us. The tour was nice. The captain had stories about a lot of the huge houses and boats we passed. Interesting trip, you get to see how very rich people spend money, and the weather was very nice.
