“Very Interesting”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Four of us went on this tour which includes a history of the home and a walk about the home itself. The history behind this house is quite amazing and the tales that are behind the supposed ghost sightings are intriguing. As part of this tour you ride on a water taxi with guest host "John".
He regales you with the history of the area that is absolutely fascinating. Well worth the time to visit.

“Great museum of early Ft. Lauderdale”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

The Stranahan House has been a part of my personal history since WAY BACK...my family use to go there for dinner after church. It provides wonderful memories for me. There was always some of the treasures to see from the Seminole Indians who use to come there to trade many, many years ago.
I had not been to see it since it had been beautifully restored to the very early 1900's. No longer used as a restaurant it is as it was ...Ivy and Frank Stranahan's home, post office, and trading post.
If you are interested in Ft. Lauderdale's early history this a great place to start.

“Great history tour”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

This quaint house is a great place to stop in. Our tour guide was excellent and told us so much about the history of this house and Stranahan family. We started with a self guided tour of the outside of the house and it's beautiful water front garden, next we went through the house with our tour guide. This house is beautiful inside and out, the furnishings while not all owned by the Stranahan family were all of the same time period and in great condition. This house has escaped all the changes of time and remains as a reminder of times gone by and of the joys and hardships of generations past. A most see if in the Ft. Lauderdale area.
