Never been to Ft/ Lauderdale before so didn't know what to expect. Staying at La Casa Del Mar made me feel comfortable, safe and that I got good value for my money. Being in very close proximity to the beach may appeal to many guests. I had no car so walked or took public transit to get around. La Casa Del Mar is about 8 or 10 blocks from the "center" of action for most bars, stores and restaurants so by the end of my stay I was a little weary of the long walks back and forth. BUT my room was wonderful, clean and fresh and came with a fully equipped kitchenette. They have a lovely little pool with lounges and tables which make for a cozy sanctuary from the hub-bub of the beach. The ONLY drawback for me as a foreign tourist was that there was no phone in the room for me to use to make reservations at tourist attractions or calling a cab etc. (the cell phone from my country does not work in the States). Otherwise I had a completely positive experience and would stay there again, for sure.
