“Once a great property, now Good!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

I love the proximity of the hotel to Ft Lauderdale. We stayed here on our "Stay-cation". We were not in the tower, but in the lower 2 story buildings that surround the pool area. Our unit was on the canal side which was nice. We were able to look at the many "millions" of dollar boats docked near the property. We were on the ground level, so we had a small patio to sit on in the morning. The upper floor didn't have that. The room was nice, but a bit dated. Our door kept sticking so we had to jiggle the handle to close it. The pool looked nice and we had apps and drinks at the bar inside. Everyone we very nice and helpful. Overall, very nice but a bit long in the tooth. You will see it in the details. Enjoy!

Room Tip: The 2 story units are nice if you can get near the canal on the bottom level, otherwise the inside u...

This hotel is in a great location. Easy access to the water taxi service for a relaxing cruise of the inter-coastal waterways. The staff was very friendly and the food and drinks in the lounge were perfect. The breakfast buffet lacks a little but it's good for a quick bite before you leave for the day. Parking can be a bit of a hassle and be prepared to pay for it. Overall, a great place to stay.

Great place next to cruise port w/awesome views of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the intracoastal and yacht cruising. Also a water taxi stop, great casual waterfront seafood bar/restaurant w/happy hour and good prices (and great upscale place w/$$$$ prices). Incredible multiple pools area w/fountains. Tennis courts. Decent fitness center that could be better, but more than adequate. Nice spa (for fee) w/steam, sauna, and finishing services (mani/pedi/hair/etc.) NO BEACH ACCESS, but reliable shuttle service w/only 5-10 minutes ride. Relatively easy walk to beach as well - and it is the best part (widest, palm trees) of Ft. L beach next to several resorts. Downside: Room and main restaurant decor dated. Huge charge for parking, even for top level Gold Passport members. Service is spotty unless you are a celebrity, which is odd since most stay at the recently built, much more upscale oceanfront Ritz, W, Westin, Hilton and Atlantic. Otherwise, a good option.

Room Tip: Ask to be in the tower w/intracoastal views. Don't be sold on the "garden" or "c...

Hyatt Regency Pier 66

Dates of Stay: Thursday, 7/31/14 - Sunday, 8/3/14
Total Nights: 3

In a nutshell, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 is a wonderful property, in a convenient location with truly superb staff, service and views; this is the perfect place for you to stay on your next trip to the Fort Lauderdale area!

Now, for my detailed review:

I had a Work Event in Fort Lauderdale in August, and the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 was the Host Hotel; I am extremely happy that I opted to stay at the Host Hotel, as the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 was a truly great place to stay, offering excellent views and top-notch service!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by extremely friendly Valet Staff; unlike many other local properties, the Valet Staff at this property were always extremely quick and efficient. I was also impressed by the cost of Parking; most similarly situated properties charge ridiculous fees for parking, as it is such a valuable commodity in the South Florida Area. However, I found the Parking Cost to be most reasonable; one may Self Park for $21/night or Valet Park for only $25/night. Based on such a reasonable cost difference, we opted for the Valet Parking and were thoroughly impressed with the Service.

The moment we pulled up to the property, we were greeted by a very friend Bell Staff Member, who promptly took our Bags and walked us to the Front Desk. At the Front Desk, we were immediately Greeted By Name, and thanked for being Loyal Hyatt Diamond Gold Passport Members. The Front Desk Agent informed us that we had been given a beautiful Suite, the "Harbor Suite," Rooms 1569-1571 on the Top Floor of the Hotel's Main Tower Building. The Front Desk Agenda explained all of the Hotel Amenities to us, and within a matter of moments, the Bell Staff Member was escorting us to our Suite.

Upon Entry into the "Harbor Suite" we were immediately in awe at the views; the views from the large wrap-around balconies of the 15th Floor provided truly amazing views of not only the Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port but also of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Inter-Coastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. As you enter the "Harbor Suite, you enter into the Bedroom and a large Entryway. Immediately to your right is an extremely large bathroom, featuring an over-sized double vanity with a small television, a sitting/dressing area with plush stool and extra-large mirrors, and a separate room with a toilet and a shower. The towels in the "Harbor Suite" were quite plush and were over-sized, and the bathroom featured the standard Hyatt Regency KenetMD Bath Amenities. As you enter, toward the left of the Entryway is a large closet, complete with two plush Hyatt Regency Robes, ample hangers and an over-sized safe for storage of valuables. Then, as you proceed into the room you will find an extremely comfortable King-sized Hyatt Grand Bed. Additionally, there is a large computer/work desk and then a beautiful wooden armoire with ample drawer space and a flat screen television. Then, at the end of the bedroom you will find a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and a large balcony, offering excellent views of Port Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. Adjoining this large bedroom is a separate Parlor, complete with a large wet bar, plush couch and chairs, and an additional television. The Parlor is also equipped with an additional half bathroom, and another large wrap-around balcony featuring absolutely amazing views. All-in-all, the "Harbor Suite" was a truly amazing Suite; numerous photos are attached should you wish any additional information.

The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 offers some excellent Dining Options. First, you can grab a quick drink or meal at "The Lounge" located off of the Main Lobby; make sure to visit it during Happy Hour for some excellent drink specials! Additionally, "Mariners" offers a wonderful Breakfast Buffet, with truly excellent wait staff. And, should you want a drink or a quick bite while relaxing at the property's amazing pool complex, you will not want to miss "Orchids Pool Bar." The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 also offers a wonderful Room Service Menu, where food is delivered quickly and is served piping hot! Finally, for one of the most amazing steaks that you could possibly have in Fort Lauderdale, make sure to visit "Grille 66 & Bar," located on the water and offering beautiful views and truly top-notch service! All-in-all, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 offers ample dining options on property.

I must also comment on the Convention Services at this property. Having attended numerous conventions at various properties, I must say, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 does truly wonderful Convention work! The IT and Multimedia Set-ups work wonderfully, and the facilities were spacious and comfortable. Additionally, the catering for the Convention Banquet was some of the best Convention Catering that I have ever experienced and came complete with some of the most friendly and efficient service staffs that I have ever seen!

Finally, one of the highlights of the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 is the excellent Pool Complex. The property has three wonderful pools, with ample space to lay out in either the sun or the shade. Unlike many properties in the area, there are ample umbrellas available for shade. Additionally, the pool-side service was some of the quickest and friendliest that I have ever experienced in the South Florida area!

All-in-all, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 is a truly wonderful property that I would highly recommend. It has top-notch staff and is in the perfect location for a relaxing pool trip or for a pre- or post-cruise stay. Offering spacious rooms with excellent views, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 is a property that should not be missed on your next trip to the Fort Lauderdale area!

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 for 1 week and loved every minute of it. The Hotel itself is beautiful, lots of green plants and grass everywhere I could see from my pool view room. Gorgeous pool/ large courtyard area with hammocks, ping pong table and other fun, tasteful things. A very calming and relaxing experience, and walking distance to many restaurants/shops when you want to get out. This is the hotel to stay at in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

On a layover to the Bahamas we stayed one night at this fantastic property. The center court yard is about twelve acres, consisting of poo;, game area reat areas, even a time out bench for h little ones that get a little out of control. The beauty lies that the interior grounds have no vehicle traffic. Kids and adults have the run of the entire area.
Inside the restaurant and bar are outstanding.
The staff is well trained and very happy to serve you, and always with a smile. Ver economical for a family, court yard facing first floor was $119/night. If traveling with a family it could easily be a vacation destination. .
