Owner description: Navigate the canals that have earned Fort Lauderdale its nickname, "Venice of America."

Boarded the boat close to Las Olas Blvd . Cruised out into the canals and to see all the amazing homes and boats. The captain did a wonderful job explaining points of interest and who lived where. There were lots of just fabulous homes to see. The size of some yachts were unbelievable. We did see the largest yacht built in the USA ome 265 feet. Also saw the largest cruise ship in the world sitting in port. A monster. We did this cruise 12 years ago and it was more enjoyable this trip. Drinks available on the trip. Last about an hour and a half

The " Venice style" canals are what makes Fort Lauderdale special and the best way to visit them is by boat as you can closely see amazing houses on the canals with live explanations. Our tour took about 1:30 hr and I think that the boat leaves every 1:30 or 2:00 hrs so be sure that you don't miss yours.

Fabulous shopping ,great places to walk in the morning, wonderful restaurants, get a manicure or pedicure, visit Palm Beach and stroll around Worth Ave, go to a museum, or a consignment store, see a movie or shop on a rainy day. Those days are few. Talk in all the beauty that surrounds you. Route 1 is fabulous it has Whole Foods, Barnes and Noble, a great wine shop a couple doors from Whole Foods. Ft. Lauderdale has everything people! One of my favorites. So many wonderful and restaurants too numerous to mention. Be aware that all restaurants will automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill, the same in South Beach, so don't overpay.

The day was beautiful on the water but the Taxi experience was very dissappointing. We were stuck both ways at stop 5 waiting for downbound and then for the Hollywood Taxi to get back to our starting area. Waiting in the dark for a taxi that we were told would be there in 10 minutes by several other taxis and phone calls to the office was not fun. We waited an hour for the 6:30 ride back to Hollywood. I would NOT recomend it. Also, if you are traveling with a large crowd you may not all be able to get on and will have to wait for another taxi. We had to wait for another taxi because they were too full. Why don't they get more taxis out on the weekends??

Nice 1.5 hour trip viewing the mansions. We took the 1:00 trip so we could enjoy the sun on the water. Search for coupons online and save about $10
