We visited this hotel in conjunction with a ship wedding of a relative. We drove to the hotel. We were not making the cruise so the hotel was our focus for the weekend stay. Unlike many hotels which have proved lacking this last year in my reviews, this one was worthy of recommendation. It had a decent hot breakfast in the morning for one thing that the whole family could enjoy! The room was quiet and clean. The main thing is that this hotel exists to promote and please those either embarking or just leaving the cruise ships. Shuttles get you to the ships and back easily. I have been to Port Everglades in this area many times while in the USN. This is my first time to see the civilian side of things, and it was a welcome change that every US Sailor would wish to enjoy over the ships food and quarters. Very well done Renaissance!

Room Tip: Our rooms were of the type that did not allow one person to dress and groom while the other showered...

We stayed here one night before a cruise. We arrived after 10:00 p.m. and were advised the only room available was a handicap-accessible room; that was fine with us. The room was clean and comfortable and other than the bathroom lacking a vanity, worked well for us. We did find that the floor outside the shower area became quite wet so we could have used an extra bathmat to soak up the water. We enjoyed a nightcap in the lounge when we arrived and found the staff to be very friendly. There is a small breakfast area where you could select from the menu or have the breakfast buffet. The buffet had the typical Danish, toast, cereal, and omelets cooked-to-order. Buffet was $15 per person. Shared van to the port was $6/person. An overall nice stay.

We stayed at the Renaissance Saturday 11/10 the night before our cruise left Port Everglades. When we arrived, we were happy to see such a beautiful lobby and overall hotel. It had a very upscale feeling yet for a reasonable price. It was close to the airport and directly across from the cruise port entrance, so that was perfect. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The room was very large and sunny, with a great view over the city. There is a very comfortable day bed right by the large windows as well. King bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows and a really nice down duvet. The flat screen TV was 30"+ so that was great. The bathroom was clean, large, and stocked with some basic amenities including toothpaste. Room service for breakfast was delivered within the promised 30 minute window and the food was excellent: we had Eggs Benedict and an omelette. The service was great at this hotel...I called the front desk at 10am to ask for extended check-out at 1pm as opposed to 12pm, and they granted that request right then and there with no hesitation. I also called the operator a few times for different questions and was always greeted promptly and with my name and how could they help me. Unfortunately we did not get to use the pool, but it looked very large and nice, and even had some comfy looking cabanas to use. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area for a cruise, and we will definitely stay here next year on our next cruise.

Excellent Hotel! The only gripe I could think of was..no laundry facility. The overall staff was phenomenal from the front desk to housekeeping...excellent work with a smile, which is important!
The fitness room was a little tight, but it got the job done. The front desk staff, especially Nathaniel & Carly really made things happen, that I enjoyed!

Room Tip: Loved the 10th floor....!

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights before leaving on a cruise. Hotel is very clean and staff helpful and friendly. Check in was no problem, arrived around 2pm, room was ready and checked in promptly. Found room to be clean and nice view of city. Request even number room if you want water view. We ate at hotel for breakfast both days and lunch on one, food was good but a little expensive. Breakfast buffet was 15.00 per person and selection was just ok. We did drinks and lunch one day with just appietizers and spent over 100.00. Took shuttle to cruise port which can easily be seen from hotel. We paid 6.00 per person, and arrived at cruise port without problems and was easy process. We left on time and not overcrowded as we have seen at other hotels. We would stay here again, only issue was water pressure in shower, hard to rinse conditioner out of hair with low pressure.

Room Tip: rooms with even numbers have water view, can easily see cruise port. Balcony at end of hall if you h...

Not great as a vacation hotel as there are many others on the beach in same class, with same rates and service. If you are doing a cruise then go for this place. It is clean. Rooms are fine. Linens and bath amenities are good. Food is average if not a bit overpriced.

Really large room with king bed, huge flatscreen, comfy fainting couch and big desk with free internet for Marriott membership! Who could ask for anything more?

Lobby is lovely, business center part of the lobby area as is the bar with cozy seating and more than 6 flatscreens tuned to movie, sports, news, election results, etc.happy to switch
to the latest results.

Fees for self-parking and valet. Coffee and tea maker in room. Nice rain shower. Room Fridge. Room safe big enough for laptop AND hand-carry luggage.

Room Tip: Book early for a waterview room. The hotel has been around for quite some time based on hallway loo...
