From the moment that we arrived in this delightful boutique hotel all was well. We were offered a welcome glass on arrival and shown around. Our room was comfortable and big enough without being huge. It opened onto the pool terrace, where breakfast is served in good weather and from there the property extends to a canal side dock. Breakfast was a super start to the day. Would we go back? Like a shot!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Pillars. Where to start. The location is a beautiful view of the intra coastal waterway and walking distance to the beach. The food is fantastic. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner on a dock overlooking the water. We had breakfast on a balcony outside of our room. The service was above and beyond! They made our anniversary unforgettable!

The hotel is small - eighteen rooms - and that is a big plus in the level of attention we received. First impression was excellent service from the front desk manned by Nicholas, who was very helpful and quite charming. The overall feeling is informal and cozy. We took a king room which had a extremely comfortable bed, lovely linens plus large plush bath towels in the bathroom. Having the water taxi do a private pickup at the hotel made us feel special and pampered too. Dinner at the hotel was served on the dock, which is on the waterway, and we had an excellent meal with fine service. We opted to enjoy our breakfast on the dock the next morning then strolled down the beach which is two minutes walk away. We both commented that we really loved everything about this charming boutique hotel. We look forward to our next visit, we will be back!

I remember staying at the Pillars back in the 80's. Back then it was just another motel on Birch Rd. What it had going for it was its location right on the Intracoastal. If you had a room on the 2nd floor you could look see for a mile north, look across it at the million dollar homes and watch the huge yachts sailing past. I can remember one that that used to glide by had a helicopter on a back landing pad The rooms were what you paid for. A little run down but kept very clean with room service every day. The bathrooms were unique, most of the walls were covered in mirrors I guess for more erotic fun. I always enjoyed coming here. The pool was always warm and well kept, the same as the grounds. Looking at the pictures posted the motel has changed so much, for the good but I still have a lot of memories staying here. Fort Lauderdale has changed so much.

We stayed just the one night at The Pillers and chose it due to its proximity to the cruise terminal - it also ensured we started our vacation in style! The design of the hotel is reminiscent of South Beach, with a modern art deco inspired decor which is very classy and stylish. Our room (King superior poolside room on 2nd floor) was quite small, however it was luxuriously appointed and extremely comfortable - high quality bed linen ensured a great night's sleep. We opted to dine at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the 'jetty' beside the water. This was high end dining (with prices to match). Delicious food aside, the view alone justified the premium. Another plus was the intimate pool area, which was the ideal way to while away a few hours before we checked out. I'd happily have stayed a few more nights and certainly plan to return.

My wife and I stayed at the Pillars a few years ago. We loved this small intimate hotel, so decided to go back for our anniversary. We had a very nice room on the second floor. We had a LARGE terrace enclosed with a covered/enclosed gazebo, furnished with a comfy couch, table and chairs, and two chaise lounge chairs. We had a reservation for dinner on the dock overlooking the Inter coastal waterway. The sunset was beautiful. The meals were wonderful. The service attentive. The next morning after a short walk to the beach, we lounged around the pool. Calm. Peaceful. Relaxing. A perfect retreat.

Room Tip: upstairs room 118 sweet view of the water.

We stayed at the Pillars Saturday to Monday. It is a quaint small size hotel (18 rooms) with a wonderful pool area. There is also a gorgeous view of the intercoastal. We got in late on Saturday. I was offered a glass of wine as soon as checked in (plus). The hotel smelled lovely as soon as I enterered. The amenities are very nice, we forgot our toothbrush and they brought us a tootbrush and toothpaste set. We ordered early on Sunday and it was brought to our room within 20 minutes, which was great for us, because we had to be somewhere early.

All in all it was a very nice hotel. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a pool side room the same night as a wedding party. They were a bit loud that night. Ask fo...
