My partner and I spent 4 wonderfully relaxing days before a cruise in February 2013 at the Lush and what a wonderful experience it was. The customer service is exemplary and other accommodations would have a difficult time coming close to what the staff at the Lush offer. The grounds can only be described as truly lush--the palm trees with orchids growing around them and the beautiful shrubbery surrounding the pool and spa all add to one of the most relaxing pre-vacations we have ever had in Ft. Lauderdale.
We stayed in the Royal Suite--probably a little bigger than what we really needed, but it was a great experience. The Royal Suite is huge--a large dining and living area, a separate bedroom and kitchen, complete with full size refrigerator, oven and microwave make this room feel more like an apartment instead of a hotel. It's tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and the rain forest shower head in the shower is a gift from heaven! The beds were firm, but comfortable and each day our room was cleaned, provided with fresh pool towels and tidied up in the least obtrusive way. They were almost like ninja room stewards--I never saw them enter or leave the room, but every morning the room was left spotless.
The pool and spa are the center of attraction in the courtyard and surrounded by the beautiful grounds of the Lush Royale. The pool was heated and kept at the perfect temperature--the spa was hot and bubbly and felt like heaven. Each afternoon cocktails were offered at the pool and ranged from pina coladas to margaritas. In the afternoon we were offered cold towels that were scented in lavender and other oils--a wonderful way to wrap up an afternoon in the sun.
Bikes are offered for rent at reasonable rates but we honestly had no desire to leave the grounds of the hotel except for dinner. We never made it to the beach even though Sebastian Beach is just a few minutes walk from the Lush. A Continental breakfast is offered each morning with breads, pastries, cereals, fruits and juices. We bought food at the grocery store and cooked those for lunch and usually headed to Wilton Manors for dinner. Wi-fi is free throughout the property and a business center with a computer and printer are also available.
The property doesn't have a lot of rooms and that is one of the features we enjoy. Instead of feeling like you are at a big hotel with hundreds of rooms, you are surrounded by faces that become familiar after a few days. We enjoy the intimacy of a smaller property. We are already looking forward to our visit next year--we wouldn't dream of staying any other place!
