We are Fort Lauderdale locals and enjoy the Las Olas sidewalk opportunities. We have eaten at Tundra in the past and found it delightful and worth the slightly inflated prices.
We went back last night to try the Tundra Tour of the chef's 10 favorite selections. While the servings were, for the most part, quite good, several were grossly over-salted. The Kobe beef meat balls were delivered to the table cold and had to be returned. It was not easy to correct that problem as I had t leave the table to find someone to tell about the problem.
The service was abysmal. We felt like the waiter had judged us unworthy of his attention and was only interested in making the table available to another victim as quickly as possible. The "Tour" was more like a cheap bus trip with a disinterested guide and a stopwatch. Each succeeding course was delivered long before we finished the last. We were there on our schedule, not the chef's or the waiter's and we found this very offensive.
To repeat, the quality of the food, except for the salt content, was quite good and when we finished we were full. However, when the check arrived it showed two items that were never served. When I pointed this out to the waiter he rushed off saying he would look into it. We had mentioned to him that we were full and did not want any more food, and while he was away "looking into it" we joked that he would probably return with two more courses we did not want or ask for. He did. Then he was rude when we said we did not ask for more food.
For the first time in years I felt justified at leaving no tip and writing a polite but negative comment on the check. We will not return.
