“Great Food & Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

went there June 2, 2014 at 9:30pm on a Monday so place was practically empty and I am sure at some point the staff was so attentive because they wanted to go home, but I didn't feel the pressure. Wonderful meal in a nice atmosphere, a bit pricey but that was expected.

“Great food and attentive service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

We have eaten at this restaurant twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch. On both ocassions we had great food and attentive service. At dinner, however, the acoustics were such that we could barely hear each other across the table. We were seated in a booth near the kitchen, but the noise came from the next booth where six people were having an animated discussion and the sound obscured our own conversation. At lunch, we sat on the opposite side of the restaurant and there was no problem with the sound. However, the restaurant wasn't full as it had been at dinner time. From appetizers to desserts, everything is perfectly prepared. We have had crab cakes, lobster and variou types of fish. Also, the salads are delicious and the bread is served hot from the oven. For dessert we had profiteroles which were superb! Can't wait to go back!

“Love Lobster on Las Olas”

Delicious food and friendly service. Pricey but that's part of the ambience of Las Olas. Went with friends and teenaged children for a birthday and we all had a great time

“Fancy Food – Poor Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

We are locals. Always keeping our eyes open for great restaurants. The owner of Lobster Bar Sea Grille, the old Jackson Steakhouse, did an excellent job with the new interior. I dare to say that this is the most elegant restaurant in town. The menu has many remarkable items. Each of us created our own three course dinner containing of appetizers only: Pickled Local Beets (with a beet sorbet, interesting!), Petrossian Caviar on Deviled Egg, Char-Grilled Octopus, Prime Steak Tartare, Ahi Tuna Carpaccio and Hamachi Sashimi. The kitchen staff does an excellent job: Everything tasted great! If only the same could be said about the service. A waiter brought the bread basket when we were almost finished with our first course. A minute later the waiter bussing our plates tried to take it away. Really! We were still eating our second courses when the third courses were delivered. Instead of coming back some minutes later the waiting staff pushed the plates on the table, making us uncomfortable. And when I just finished my second meal the waitress grabbed my plate and put the flatware I was eating with on the table for me to use it again. I had to ask for a new set! This all happened on a quiet Monday evening not during a busy night. We will be back because of the atmosphere and the exceptional food. However, we’ll wait a couple of weeks, hoping the waiting staff has been professionally trained by then. Learn the basics, guys: Bring the bread right away, place clean flatware after every course and don’t rush guests to finish a course just because your timing for serving the next one was wrong!

“All around excellent place to dine in Ft. Lauderdale”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

I was apprehensive about dining here based upon the "love it or hate it" reviews online. But from the moment we arrived, we had a spectacular dining experience. We were quickly greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. Let me start off by addressing other online reviewer's biggest negatives. Yes, the place has noise issues because of the tiled arched ceiling but the atmosphere was festive and the noise was not an issue for us. Unless your number one priority is a quiet meal, I would not let this be a concern. The other issue here is value. It is expensive. If you are looking for value, move on. If you want high quality food and drinks in a very nice setting, and are willing to spend what is typical in Fort Lauderdale's upscale dining scene, keep reading.

The place is very attractive. It has a Northeastern feel to it, combining elements of a Maine lighthouse with an old New York subway station. Our server was the best. She directed us to the best dishes and was super attentive to our needs. Other servers did not appear to have her same exuberance, but still very professional.

We started with lobster and seafood ceviche and grilled octopus. The ceviche was light and fresh and the octopus was out of this world delicious. My wife, who doesn't normally enjoy octopus was blown away by the texture and flavor. We then shared the bone-in filet and the flash fried lobster tail. Both were top notch. I would not compare this place to a restaurant like Market 17, where they are trying to raise the culinary bar and challenge your taste buds. But the entrees were fresh, the quality was top notch and you should not be disappointed.

We finished things off with the profiteroles, which were fantastic. My mouth is watering just thinking about this dessert. Warm mini puffs, ice cream and dipping sauces. Enough said.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place unless you are looking for an intimate dining experience or not interested in spend top dollar for dinner.
