The Mai-Kai authentically recreates a Polynesian Village, complete with tiki torches, a thatch roof, tropical gardens, waterfalls and museum quality artifacts. The exciting Islander Revue is performed nightly by native Polynesian dancers in colorful hand sewn costumes. The Hawaiian wedding dance will seduce you, and the Samoan Fire and Knife dance will leave you speechless. The Revue is a favorite of all ages. The award winning cuisine includes American and Cantonese dishes, many prepared in our Chinese Ovens, and each dining room reflects a different Island of Polynesia. The Molokai Bar is a South Seas saloon with over 51 tropical drinks and live music nightly. "Home of the Mystery Drink" served by our sarong-clad maiden, with an orchid lei. The ambiance is very nice in this restaurant but it is way too expensive to come here on a regular basis... $100 dollars on a dinner experience for a couple is way too much. The food selection is creative and so are the drinks. The show is beautiful but it was cheaper to have a dinner like this in Hawaii ( and Hawaii is an expensive place). Unfortunately won't be back.

Thank you for your visiting us and writing a review. I appreciate your honesty in the review as it helps other guests know what to expect when dining with us. Your comments on the food, drinks and show are much appreciated. Unfortunately, creating this kind of ambiance is very expensive thus are prices are higher than normal. I am glad you were able to visit us as we really appreciate your business.

It was a awesome show, great seats, amazing tours, great food, and great prices! I go here with my family sometimes and the employees even park your cars for you, how nice is that? The show had employees even licking fire on sticks! You can come here for your birthday or wedding or anything and go on stage and dance!

We had looked forward to visiting Mai Kai for months, and decided to go for our daughter's birthday. It turned out to be a big letdown. First, we were seated at the back of the restuarant, when there clearly were tables closer. Although the dim lights were great for ambiance, it made it difficult to read the menu, and we had to use our cellphone flashlights to help us see. We ordered a pina colada and florida daiquiri, both were watered way down. However, the kids drinks, which arrived in a fresh pineapple, we a nice touch. For appetizer we ordered the calamari, which was the most bland calamari we'd ever had. We also ordered the wings - who could mess up wings, right? Mai Kai did. The flavor was off, and their dipping sauce did nothing to help with the lack of flavor. The entree's were ok, nothing spectacular. We were so disappointed with the food, we didn't even stay for the show. Overall, we spent over $100 for a dinner that was anything but nice. This place is seriously overrated. We will definetly not be visiting there again.

I really enjoyed the food and the show was great. I had the prime rib and it was the best I've ever had. The food was great. The show was as well.

My only critical aspect of the event was our seating. We made a reservation three months in advance. When we got there we were seated in a back corner. I asked for a better seat and we were again placed in a back table. We spent a great deal of money on this meal and our reservation was made well in advance, we should have had a better table.

We visited the Mai Kai for a dinner- show experience while on vacation in Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere is tropical and very pretty. Reservations are a must. If you want a good seat for the show I suggest you arrive early. Dinner reservations are at 6 or 6:30 for the 8 pm show. Closer tables are filled first. The show room is a little crowded. Unfortunately for us there was a party of 20 plus at the next table who were friends of the management which I think hampered our service. We chose the Bali Hai Menu Show package which included a starter, entree and frozen yogurt for around $48 per person including the show. The other option is ordering ala carte with a cost for the show of around $15 per person. There is a nice selection on the Bail Hai menu. We were very satisfied with the PuPu platter and the Lobster Bisque. The two Chinese Oven entrees we had-( the Pork loin and Ribs) were dry. The Shrimp in Lobster sauce was tasty as was the Teriyaki Platter. Tropical drinks were also good. The performers were really talented. The Fire dancers amazing. I suggest you take the time to walk through the garden as it too is very beautiful. We had a nice time. It is just important to know what to expect.
