Great place for food, drinks and overhearing the salty wisdom of Capt. Ron at the bar. The food saucy, spicy and sweet. Order some peel & eat shrimp, some beer and a slice of key lime pie for the perfect afternoon pirate snack. Even the wenches are quick and helpful.
Four "args" out of five.

Every town has its local favorite eateries and Southport Raw Bar is one of them. You will find many locals and visitors alike enjoying the good food in a casual ambiance in this end of canal restaurant off the ICW. The steamed clams n clam chowder are some of our favorite fare. Parking can be a problem especially during peak hours for lunch or dinner, but there is also parking on the south side parking lot. There are also a few boat slips for boating diners.

Came here on a whim while staying at the Hilton Marina. We walked, which was long but enjoyable. Not having huge appetites we ordered a few things to share. We started out with the conch and clam chowders (both were very good but the clam was stand-out), next we had the clam strips,(which were, well, clam strips), after that we ordered a dozen raw oysters which were extremely fresh and delicious and we finished with the mussels (some of the best I have ever had). So glad we came here, has that "neighborhood" feel. Service was excellent. We will definitely return.

Wow. The reviews for this place were great. When we reached our server told us that the oysters were very large as a disclaimer. As oyster lovers we were excited. The oysters were DIRTY, slimy, stinky, and tasted Awful. im so sad that a nice waterfront restaurant had such poor oysters.

Down here visiting from Alaska, all the locals said the Raw bar was good. Food was good and the staff was very polite and friendly. Great spot to grab a bite to eat and a beer if you're in the area.
