but the name may be better than the food :) its an old standard for Las Olas and since it is also my namesake we end up there often enough. staff is quality. friendly service. food could be brought up a notch but quite good.

“This restaurant should be in the top ten”
Reviewed 2 November 2013 via mobile

We dined here with a group of friends and had a great evening. The service is extremely friendly and yet very professional from the hostess, bar tender and the servers. We ordered salads for starters and a variety of mains.
Lamb rack and shank- perfectly cooked and fantastic taste,
surf and turf and strip loin were both pronounced as perfect as well.
Hog Snapper was good as well although the diner chose to skip the risotto so the plate looked a bit plain.
One note is that the chef will not do substitutions unless it is allergy related.
Overall a great dining experience on Los Olas.

“A cut above”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

Came for dinner recently and had never heard of the place before, but was very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere, interesting menu and great service were all supported by excellent food. Although I guess you would characterize this as a seafood restaurant, the dishes were more imaginative than the typical grilled or broiled fish you'd find elsewhere. One of the best appetizers I've ever had was the bacon, eggs and toast. Out of this world. Although I was there for a business dinner, it would be a perfect spot for a special occasion or date. Look forward to going back.

“Absolutely excellent!”

Can't give Johnny V's a high enough rating. Everything was just perfect. The service top notch and our waiter was by far the most professional. You could just tell by the way he handled everything that his job was to please the customer. The food was fabulous. Everything that was prepared had that little extra touch in the preparation that make it outstanding.

“Not all That”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Love the bar, love the location.....but..... chef is not so easy about changing up his menu for dietary needs. We asked for simply grilled fish no butter or oil and it came out with some kind of greasy topping..... waiter insisted it was the natural oil..but I am certain it was either butter spray or oil. Food was mediocre and prices were up there.... go for a drink and some apps and dine elsewhere.
