Pineapple Point Guest House and Resort

I have stayed at Pineapple Point three times now, and truly love being part of this experience.....there is a "power of place" here. I was in Ft. Lauderdale on a mix of business and pleasure, and had the good fortune of getting a reservation with one day's notice ( a cancelation happened) for my favorite room, number "9" beside the ivy gate, beneath a canopy of palm and flowers. To me, Pineapple Point is a kind of time machine, back to an era of cool guesthouses, when gay men needed their own space. No longer, thank goodness, but Pineapple Point maintains that esprit with contemporary elegance. Friendly. Sexy. Super clean and shipshape.

We visited Pineapple Point again this past weekend, which we have been doing for some eleven years in February now. It is hard to believe how this place continues to impress and amaze, but it does -- mainly because Phil Quattrone (owner) and Lincoln Pirkle (Manager) are so incredibly committed to customer service, and hiring staff who embody excellence in that.

This weekend was something of a test -- Phil and his partner Judd were away on a cruise, Lincoln was away as well, and the remaining staff were stretched a little thin. They worked so hard that no one saw or felt it. Scott, Roberto, and Scotty were outstanding -- they all were.

If you have not been there, the facilities and grounds are stunning. You will be spoiled, and you will love it. We barely leave the property, but it's an easy 20 minute walk to Las Olas and restaurants and clubs, and an easy drive to all over the Fort Lauderdale area.

We can't wait to go back -- and have already booked for next year!

For the past 2 years we've stayed at Pineapple Point prior to jumping on the RSVP cruise. We live hectic (often chaotic) lives and arriving at Pineapple Point is truly the place where we can exhale and decompress. When we open the gate upon arrival the world slows down and we are surrounded by amazing beauty and a staff that is exceptional. We are VERY picky about our room and they exceed our expectations - every one we've seen has charm, elegance and always spotless. Phil and Judd are wonderful hosts and they have done an exceptional job in creating a place where everyone feels welcome and is treated like royalty (every pun intended)

If you're looking for the perfect tropical vacation without leaving the mainland, this IS the ONLY place for you! We've traveled the globe and this is our favorite. See you next year...and the year after that...and the year after that!

We visited in 2012 and I have taken far to long to get round to letting the staff and owner know how happy we were with the customer service. Made to feel welcome from arrival to departure.

Got the feeling that the staff were not just exceptionally well trained but honesty happy to be of help!

We will be back!

I stayed at Pineapple Point for the first time last week. I agree with the positive reviews and want to express my absolute delight that I chose to stay at this resort. I think that there are about 23 rooms and I was very impressed that there appeared to more than a dozen staff on duty....plus the 2 owners, Phil and Judd. This fine group of guys could not have been more hospitable or accommodating. To my surprise, I saw many of the same guests that I had met at another local guest house, the Royal Palms, in recent years. Trip Advisor reviews of Royal Palms are deceiving because the older reviews on-line include those that were from prior ownership in a completely different location. The "new" Royal Palms has been relocated and is a minimalist property. We all laughed because we all were thinking the same thing when we independently chose to stay at Pineapple Point which offers the following that was not available at Royal Palms (now Lush Royale):

Dedicated housekeeping staff exclusive to the property
Larger rooms that have been updated and luxuriously appointed
Free weekend BBQ's with high quality service and selection
2 large hot-tubs
Expansive daily mutational breakfasts (not a bagged pastry roll)
Free poolside refreshments
Diversified group of guests
On-site gym and massage studio
Central air conditioning
Private sundecks in some rooms
Free use of bikes
Laundry facilities
Villa Suites with full high-end kitchens
.......and the list goes on and on.

The resort is conveniently located and very close to Fort Lauderdale nightlife, restaurants and shopping. And even just as important, many of the guests have now become friends and there is a sense of camaraderie that was never found at the other guest houses I have stayed in.

Lincoln, Scott, Scotty and all of the staff are the best around. They all give 100%. One reason that many of us no longer stay at Royal Palms/LushRoyale is because the staff frequently made it a point to complain about the Manager and the internal politics and drama that became a part of the establishment. Nobody wants to go on vacation and have to deal with politics and drama.

The best compliment that I can give Pineapple Point is that when it was time to check out and board a ship for a one-week cruise, my partner and I wished that we could have canceled the cruise just to stay at Pineapple for an additional week. We will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed our 5 night stay in early February. This was our fist visit to Florida and the guys at Pineapple Point made us feel very welcome. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - and the smile you get from everyone is honest . Our room was very comfortable and just the right size. Excellent breakfast and complimentary(!) snacks/drinks available all day. The happy hour every evening really encourages socialising and we met several guys this way and went for dinner together. Highly recommend this very relaxed and intimate hotel with a 'traditional' feel!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 12 - the bungalow. It was very comfortable and quiet, although you do see staff wa...

I stay nowhere else in FLL and haven't for over 10 years. Our trip the last week of January 2013 was another perfect vacation in a perfect place. It is the best resort hotel I have ever stayed at, gay or straight. Go...and see for yourselves.

Room Tip: Decide on whether you want "old Florida" accommodations in the quaint original building or...
